This is the story of Jack, Chloe and Michelle going to their first swingers party. I'd read another story by this author first and got the impression from that story that the author is writing more or less a cautionary tale of a lifestyle more than erotica. Maybe because of that first story, I still had that impression going into this read.
The story is told from Jack's POV and follows him as he wanders through the party and meets potential partners. His is more a raw voice and he tells us what he sees. Ocassionally we get self doubt as to the experience but we're left feeling that all had fun even if that sort of event is maybe a bit much for them. Well written and the plotting and progression make sense.

Laying Odds takes Jack and Chloe to their first swingers' party with their friends Al and Debbie and hot swinging Michelle. Some of what happens is what they expect and of course, the unexpected flows into the wild party. Jack gets his wish to get into a tangle of bodies and discovers some new truths about his personal limits. Jack also has to figure out how he feels about being caught by Bob and what Bob did to him??? He didn't talk about it for a year before he shared this with Chloe. This all was really extremely funny; I just love a good laugh about a little something naughty. After this wild party, they are on to more swinging and I have the next episode, Black Jack is the next one n this series.

My, my what young people will bet about to have a good time! The couple in this story do believe in having a good time...
