This was FREE on AMAZON today, so I figured "What the hell I'll give it go..."
Ethan is a 400 year old vampire and pretty much given up on ever finding his mate. Him and his three brothers belong to the Vampire Coalition whose job is to protect humans from fallen vampires. Brianna Cole is dieing from a rare blood condition and fading fast. In her dreams she calls out to Ethan for help. Can Ethan find his destined mate before it is too late....?
I enjoyed this one. It is pretty much INSTA-EVERYTHING and could have used A LOT more fleshing out of the characters and the World building. Brianna just accepts everything lickady-split. I was scratching my head over the fact that Brianna was at death's door, super skinny, short hair because the chemotherapy made it fall out. Drinking Ethan's blood makes her fat and sassy again, with long luscious hair. So this wouldn't have been an issue except they go visit her mom (keeping the fact vampires exist a secret from her) and she doesn't wonder or ask why all of a sudden her dying daughter looks like a fashion model?? Anyways, why ask why right?
Like I said I enjoyed it for what it was. It was extremely short and I think this author would have been better served writing a longer story and fleshing it out more. The bones for a really AWESOME full length book were right there for the taking...

Three Very Sexy Vampire Stars
Wow. A Vampire Erotica!!
This was a really quick novella read, and I have to admit it was fun and sexy and brooding.
I love a sexy Vampire me!!
The mating ritual at the end was worth the read, and Ethan is one hot Vamp.
**Free on Amazon,** it is the first in a series about Ethan and his Vampire brothers.
Although this is a cheesy bit of a novella, and the writing is quite amateurish, the actual story idea of all Vampires being born,not made, and all being male, and having to find their one true mate who holds their soul is a really good unique one. Only during the mating ritual can the soul it be given to the Vampire, and that mating ritual is breathtaking.
"I wont lie to you, Brianna. It's . . difficult. Once the vow is spoken and our marks are joined, every feral and carnal instinct I have to dominate you will rule me. It's something I cant overcome"
Oh My!!
And did I forget to mention? Ethan's mate, Brianna, is dying from a rare form of Leukaemia. But the mating ritual will cure her.

I loved this unusual vampire story. This is the first story of the series I read but not the first of the series. There is a .5 short story as well. I am not normally one for vampire stories but this one is the exception. If they were all like this, I would be reading them all the time.
What made this one different was the conflict between the good vampires (Vampire Coalition) and bad (fallen). The closeness of families and dynamics between the coalition itself.
This story is for Mature 18+.

This book was bad. Completely disaster. I didn't like anything here at all. Yes, I understand that this book is short one, but why was this needed to be wrote so bad. Emotions - zero. Characters - zero.
Still, this book wasn't for me ''I-hate-you-so-fu*king-much!'' , so it didn't deserve one star. I think that I rated only three books with one star, and they are much, much worse.
Will I continue with reading this series? Hell NO.

Great little story, what I like about J.S is that she moves from one genre to the next with great ease, i love vampires so this already had my seal of approval, the story was engaging and the characters very likeable,my only criticism is that it is indeed too short! I was expecting some cliffhanger moment some last minute drama but it ended too quickly. Still more siblings to read about, and I cant wait!

Holy Alpha badass Vampire! Ethan is over 400 years old. He never thought he would find his mate. Most vampires find their mates by the time they are 100-150. He has come to terms with not being mated and getting the other half of his soul. He fights the fallen with his brothers and is content. One day he wakes from his day sleep in a mess. His mate has called out to him. She is scared and weak. Ethan goes crazy trying to connect with her Unfortunately he falls back into his day sleep. Once night comes he calls his brothers tells them his mate has contacted him. They all go on alert to scout the area looking for any fallen that might be hanging around looking for un-mated humans. Once Brianna falls back asleep she calls out to Ethan again. She tells him she feels evil around her and is scared. He is able to keep her talking long enough to find her. Once he is inside her room he also senses the fallen. He finds out Brianna is sick and dying from a rare form of leukemia. Only that's not why she is dying. Her life force is being drained because she is un-mated. Ethan calls out to the fallen to show himself-ready to fight for his mate. Ethan quickly takes care of the fallen. When he turns around Brianna is standing there looking at him. He cleans up the mess and himself with magic. As much as she should be scared of him she isn't. She takes everything in stride. Ethan gets her strong enough to be able to go through the mating ritual before she gets sick again. The mating ritual- what can I say about that. WOW! I think that about sums it up. WOW!!!

I truly enjoyed all five stories. I enjoy books or series of books in which I learn something. Although this was erotica (I'm no prude). The stories were about four brothers and their King. The author did a wonderful job in tying everything in tying each of the books together with style and grace.
The author did an outstanding job in teaching the reader both about the vampire world, the mage world (I'd like to refer to them as "blue blood vampires" although they are quite different in what they both can and cannot do.
It's a lend me, so if we're friends and enjoy this type of genre (so much more than erotica), I will be more than happy to lend it to you. However, if you're looking for a Twilight series, you're knocking on the wrong door. I tried to read those and could never get into them. This series was a very good one.

I read a paranormal romance book by a different author and I wasn't impressed so even though I enjoyed other books by J.S. Scott I kept putting off this book. I'm not sure why I was waiting. I loved this book. Her imagination in the book (which I'm sure the whole series will be the same) is amazing. Reading this makes me want to find my vampire mate. Hehe. I can't wait to read Rory's Mate next.

This is the first novella in the Vampire Coalition series. This novella tells the story of Ethan Hale and his journey towards finding his mate, Brianna. Ethan is five hundred years old, so he's long since abandoned hope of finding his mate. Instead he hunts down and kills the fallen vampires (with the help of his three brothers who are also unattached). However, Ethan is awoken from his sleep by the sound of his mate calling out to him because she's in danger from an unforeseen evil presence. Obviously Ethan goes absolutely crazy trying to find her because his protective and possessive streaks have been unleashed in full force by his mate calling for him.
Brianna is suffering from some rare form of Leukemia and her time is quickly running out...she's dying slowly. Ethan must find her and convince her to undergo the mating ritual with him before her time runs out and he loses her (and himself) for eternity.
You know, i really enjoyed this novella, which says a lot coming from me because this isn't my typical cup of tea. I try to avoid vampire stories because they are all the same after a while, but that isn't the case here. I mean, yeah, there are some similarities, but there are also differences that make the story fresh and engaging. Plus, the mating ritual is enthralling because of all the feelings that it evokes. I also find the concept of each male vampire having a female human mate sort of....romantic....is that crazy? I could be crazy, but that still doesn't change the fact that I loved that part. Having to mate in order to be happy and fulfilled. It seems to be this deeply personal and loving process (despite the volatility of it).
Anyway, that's enough babbling for me. I highly recommend this read!

Honestly, not bad for a short little novella. And there are four more books in the collection to stretch it out some. That way, you get more out of it than a usual short story. I saw a lot of familiar aspects to the vampires. It was like the combination of many of my favorite vampires from other full length series that I read. For example, these vampires are good, but can turn evil with blood lust (Christine Feehan's Carpathians), they are born instead of turned (J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood), they HAVE to mate with humans (Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed), their mates hold their soul which restores emotions (again CF's Carpathians), and and they have no sexual inclinations until they find their mates (Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark). Those are just a few examples. But that's not to say that this is copying anyone. Any vampire-type being created is going to have similarities with others already out there. There's only so many ways that you can make a vampire. And even with all those familiar characteristics, it still had a very original story line. So basically, this turned out to be a combination of all my favorite vampires, with a very fast paced, no nonsense plot that's short enough to read on your lunch break. Not too shabby for a short story! I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

He knows the dangers that are out there but he doesn't care as long as his mate is safe from harm.
Brianna is dying and she knows this but when suddenly she finds out there is a way to stay alive she is cautious at first but the attraction and feeling of being safe for the first time in a long time has her thinking that maybe she should consider what the handsome stranger is talking about.
J.S. Scott is talented beyond compare! Her writing style is amazing, she can rope you into a book within the first few pages and have you on the edge of your seat wanting more and more within the first chapter. I can't wait to read more from this talented author!

Frist I must mention, before hearing about Ethan Mate or even his brothers The Vampire Coalition I was not a fan of paranormal romance. It was free so I immediately taught to myself," Why not!"
So I started the introduction Ethan mate and bamm!! I was immediately hook! The understanding of vampires, how the coalition originated, their code of ethics, even the ones beyond redemption got me wanting to by the remaining siblings. After the prologue I felt as though I was watching a #1 blockbuster movie. I also love the telepathy that Ethan and Brianna share and how it fit in their reality, Oh and my god the chemistry was so smoking hot!!

What a erotic love story. Ethan is a strong and loyal warrior. To protect his kind even though he has given up the fact that his mate is dead or not born yet. Brianna was a sick woman scared to die and not wanting to die embraced Ethan's words and him. The hot steamy love scenes makes the temperature in the room raise. Their mating ritual was a little weird having windows so people could watch and witness their mating ? How embarrassing I could not even walk through the door.
Still a great and easy read. Makes me want to read the other books to follow.

Really good storyline, but I would have loved to have more action. The story reminds me of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series in regards to the soulmate aspect. If the author chose to really apply herself, she could create an amazing novel of 200+ pages each, which of course is what I would love. I only noticed a couple errors but nothing too concerning. Overall great story and will continue reading the series when I get the chance.

Ethan will have you swooning in no time he is the alpha that is very protective. Brianna is one that will give you a run for you money but loving beyond belief. Lots of action and a twist on the normal vampire tale. Great fun fast read.

This is the first in a fantastic series called 'The Vampire Coalition' and is FREE to download. I loved reading all about Ethan and Brianna. Ethan Hale is one of four brothers who work side by side fighting against fallen vampires. He along with his brothers destroy any fallen they come across trying to protect humans, not an easy task as they have become so many over the years. Ethan has not yet found his mate, the keeper of his soul, when a vampire is mated to his true mate they become bonded, their souls becoming one. He has been waiting for hundreds of years to be mated, but thinks he missed his chance till one night he is being called for, he knows this is to be his true mate, only a true mate can call for him in there sleep. Along comes Brianna a beautiful lady but is suffering and will die if she dos not accept that this illness she suffers is because she has not yet been mated. You can imagine it's hard to accept something like that but she does feel drawn to Ethan. Ethan needs to protect Brianna it is in his DNA not to let anything happen to her. He needs the help of his brothers to protect her as the fallen have decided to make her a target. He will not let anything happen to her. This is a great read, I just had to read about all the 'Hale' brothers. If you love vampires and great romance stories this book is for you.

I can not believe my review is not posted. I thought it was. Anyway, im not a paranormal book girl ( or I wasn't) until I read this. Once u start u will not put it down. I love this so much I got the hole Vampire Coalition Box set. . Ethan is just yummy!! Im also looking forward to learning about the brothers. Ethan and from what I see all brothers are very dedicated and devoted to there pact!! Ethans Dominance is such a turn on and makes me love the book more.

Wish it was longer....
This was a great book that capture my attention on the very first page. I read half the book on my 1st night, then finished it the 2nd. Wish it was longer. I love how I got to read a chapter of the next book Rory's mate and it picks up where book one ended, at Brianna and Ethan's wedding. I'm just going to jump right in and buy the series... I'm hooked now!!

For some reason I really loved this book!! I'm not a fan of these short kindle books as most just are not thorough but with this one it was not bad and I'm sure we will here more of these two as series continues. I was left satisfied and happy with this book. If we all could just call out to find our soul mate~~ sigh :0)

A terrific sexual paranormal tale of a vampire finding his mate. J.S. Scott brings a new age twist to the existence of vampires and how they became, survive, love or become one of the fallen. I highly recommend this story. It is short but delivery gives the full effects.

This is definitely a whirlwind book. I loved every page. The hot steamy sex was very erotic. The characters are extraordinary. I do love a great vampire book. Even this novella was great. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. 'Ethan's Mate' is a definite must read. Recommended
