I have never had a way with men, other than the random acts of nature that seemed to strike down their advances at every chance. Thanks mom, you could’ve saved me a hell of a lot of humiliation if you had let me know about all of this before now. I’m also not a looker, not like some Holleywood actress or model. I’m tall and thin enough, but I’ve got curves and by no means have I ever stopped traffic.
Enter two of the most beautiful men that I have ever lay eyes upon. Make that Immortal men while we’re at it. And I suppose I should call them ‘male’ since there’s nothing human about them. All male actually, in every sense of the word. I couldn’t be more of a fool than I am around them it turns out but they keep coming back. And both of them keep telling me I’m the one. Yeah. Right. Oh, and somehow, I’m supposed to be able to determine in 10 days which one is a liar and which one really is ‘made’ for me. Things stir deliciously when either one is around and my experiences in my world are few and far between. They are both Gods in their own right and I am just one measly human. Or am I? For a little longer I suppose I am....
Oh and Amele, when I’m stronger I will kick your ass for this. While I’m thankful you’re on my side, you should’ve prepared me for this! I know I know, the damned curse. But there must have been a way. The storm of Uglies grows thicker in my world and I feel completely powerless against them. For now, I’m content just kicking theirs. Powerless against the war and powerless against the advances of these gorgeous creatures that should not even exist. Whatever you do, forget everything you ever thought you’ve learned about faeries, and please, do not ever call them that!

My latest release, urban fantasy romance that is steeped in the Norse Mythology of Ragnarok, is the first of its kind in the adult market. It just won an award for best New Adult Romance a month from being published. I'm quite pleased with the reactions from both contemporary and fantasy romance readers alike for "The Last Valkyrie."

This is the first book I have read if Jennifer Sage. I think she did an awesome job with he skills of writing Immortal Dreams. Its different compared to the other paranormal books I have read. And of course he doesn't hurt to have two hot men fighting for you. That takes the cake. :-) I liked the scenes when she had her dreams. I thought sexy was not the perfect word I would use. I need another word that would be better then sexy cause that's how I felt reading it. The letter she found had me going. After reading this book by Jennifer Sage I am planning on buying more of her books. I so recommend this book to everyone who likes Paranormal.
This is the first book I have read if Jennifer Sage and all i can say is i absolutely loved this book. Its about a girl named Isabel on her birthday she finds out shes not a human and she didn't know who or what she really is she finds out she is a half ling half elven and half sidhe and shes also a princess too by a bodhe a sidhe prince who tells her she must choose between him and another sidhe named Morkain and that her decision will effect the safety of both worlds. She must choose the the right Sidhe not only for her happiness but the safety of all who will she choose well you'll just have to read the book to find out!!
Okay let me start out by saying that, I don't normally read paranormal romance books. I have found that the ones that I have tried to read are too unreal for me to get into the story. Yes, I am fully aware that a paranormal romance is fiction based and not meant to be realistic, but the way the ones I have read in the past did not hold enough detail for me to see their worlds and understand them for me to put myself in the story. That, however, was not the case with Jennifer Sage's "Immortal Dreams".
Isabel has been living a 'normalish' life thus far in her life. She and her friend Amele have been friends for a while. Isabel has not had the best of luck when it comes to men. Every time they get 'close' to her lightning or tornadoes make an appearance. Pretty crazy right? Well not as crazy as it was for Isabel to wake up in what she thought was a dream to find a far too gorgeous man to be legal and her clothes had changed.
This book takes you on a triangle unlike any other. Isabel is thrown into this on her 22nd birthday unaware of anything. Suddenly she has these two amazingly hot men fighting over her and hoping to win her heart, but the catch is...The one she sleeps with is the one that will be her eternal love. Now there is yet another stipulation, if she chooses the wrong one...two worlds are doomed.
Okay now you tell me how scary your first time was? For some reason, I don't think it was as scary as this LMAO!!!!!!!!
As the story unfolds Isabel learns about her real family and who she really is while trying to make the decision that would either save or kill two worlds. Amele is by her side the entire way and helps guide her as much as she is allowed to with the prophecy in place she cannot tell her much.
OMG!!!! and I must tell you there is a line in this book that is like the BEST line I have EVER read in a book and I so badly want to add it but I can't because it would give too much away and I don't want to do that, but OMG!!!! if there was a nomination for best line ever....yeah this would win hands freaking down!!!! If you have read it then I am sure you know what line I'm talking about. I immediately started crying when it was said....*sigh*
This was truly a rollercoaster of emotions and I even found myself yelling at my computer some times. You just want to scream at Isabel "The signs! The f*cking signs!", but then you remember its a book and so she can't hear you. *sigh*
Jennifer Sage, this is the first book that I have ever read of yours and I am so glad I was able to. This will definitely not be the last one either. You held me from the beginning until the end and left me wanting more. I can't wait to read the second book. Amele is truly a character. You have some serious talent and I wish nothing but the best for you and all the success in the future.
I started reading this and by the first few pages, I was hooked! Jennifer took me on a wild ride with her Immortal Dreams book that I did not want to end-but let me tell you-what an ending I didn't see coming. One girl, two men and holy hot! Without giving the story away, I was shocked at the twist of who Isabele picked and I know other readers will be too. The story starts out with a sexy as hell dream about her first suitor Morkain and man, I wish I was her! But in comes Bodhe and damn, damn, damn.....how can a girl choose. Both men need her but for different reasons. She is swept away in a dream world that Jennifer Sage creates that makes you believe you are there with them. Her talent for world building is amazing. Immortals, Faeries, Elementals, Seelie and Unseelie and Sidhe OH MY! If you love Urban Fantasy then this is your book. I can't wait to read Amele's story!
So <3'd this!! I was thoroughly pleased with the way this story played out. This is a must read for all fantasy and romance lovers. I look forward to more from Jennifer Sage!!
Isabel's story is that of passion and life changes. We are brought into the novel from a past point in the novel and wow its hot!! Morkain we find out later is a suitor vying for Isabel's heart, but he is not the only one.
Isabel is about to go through a turning and it will take until the "Blood Moon" for its completion. And oh boy, does it get wild!! Between lightning and random tornadoes, "Any lover of yours that can survive mother nature's wrath and actually can sleep with you will be one hell of a man."
As Isabel falls asleep, she has her first of many nights of lucid dreams of one or the other of her new suitors. And that is where we first be Bodhe, *swoon*, "Six foot something of lean muscle and long white hair stood there. The greenest eyes of the deepest ocean stared back and his face was chiseled from a statue of a Greek God." He is the sidhe prince of Loveryn and Isabel's suitor.
Getting a box from her birth mother on her 22nd birthday, the dream and her life take on a whole new meaning. She learns that she will have until the blood moon rises to choose between the two suitors and that one will be the "love of her eternal life." Her mothers gift to help along this journey is a beautiful necklace with "an ancient looking pendant that caged a deep red stone with a light silver brace."
Amele is Isabel's best friend and all around kick-ass guardian of sorts, with a love for 'Ben and Jerry's.' She helps Isabel come to terms with all that is happening and is quite humorous in some explanations of events. " A ring with a beautiful white center stone," is a type of tracking device that Isabel can use to summon Amele to her if in need. Amele is there along the way to explain the changes Isabel sees and guides her training in the art of weapons/fighting.
This journey is a lot of back and fourth between Bodhe and Morkain with Isabel trying to keep an open mind and heart. Bodhe and Morkain both make her crazy with lustful thoughts that consume her whenever they are near. However she uses her time while in the human relam to make sense of her feelings the best she can. The author has absolutely made them both 'lickable!'
I loved, loved, loved this book! From the first chapter to the last, the author totally kept me enthralled in the story. I totally love the humorous writing style of this author, and am looking forward to more and more from her!
It started with a luscious first chapter that had me thinking "whoa" to the last chapter where I had tears in my eyes. I also loved how the author wove a very believable story that wasn't all that farfetched (at least in my mind). She kept the story fairly simple that had a lot of players in it that I could follow very easily.
For Isabel to have to choose between two HOT guys is almost every woman's fantasy, but if she chooses the wrong one it could prove disastrous for 3 worlds, including ours. I found myself rooting for Isabel, and groaning over her having to choose between the two men! By the time I had put two and two together on which one was the bad guy, Ms. Cage finally let us in on who he was.
I loved the author's description of the worlds as well of the characters. She painted a very thorough picture without going overboard. I am SO going to start the next one Immortal Bound right after I am done posting this review!
I read many genres, and paranormal romances have become a favorite. This book definitely hooked me from the beginning. I loved getting what I call outcome teasers all through the book. Those just give me encouragement to keep reading. The in between time of Isabel's visits with her two suitor choices were nicely filled with time at "home" with her friend Amele. The tantalizing steam filled additions were just the right amount of "icing" on this "cake".
I love reading a book that literally has me cheering for the characters to figure things out, you almost want to shout at them, jump in a help, and share in the victories.
I look forward to reading book 2 in this series as well as Jennifer's book Keltor.
I love this book. I have read a lot of "fantasy romance" books on all sides of the spectrum this one gives you a few things you've not seen before which definitely makes this book a must read. The characters are so interesting you want to keep reading, got find out what happens next. Your not sure who is who which I love.In some books you can tell instantly who will do what, but this book doesn't follow the "formula" and that is definitely a plus in my book shelf. I have read this book 4 times and each time i find things I may not have seen before there is a depth to it and while this author stretches her wings I cant wait to see what happens next. Love it. It is truly a Must Read!!!
I loved this book, Immortal Dreams!! Isabel is thrown into a another world, in which she has just 10 days to chose between HOT guys... (lucky lady) But the catch is she has to pick the right one, to break the curse that could unleash disaster and also free her imprisoned mother. She is helped hone her new found Immortal gifts, by the feisty, SPICY Amele, who is one funny kick ass warrior! I highly recommend this enchanting book as it has abit of everything that some other books lack nowadays. Cant wait to read Immortal Bound the next book, about Amele...
An interesting story about a girl who thinks she knows who she is until her life suddenly changes and she learns she is not who she thinks she is.
The characters are well developed, the sex scenes are HOT and the plot is unique! The story started off strong, however I struggled in the middle of it especially as it related to the curse.
If you're into paranormal books, this is definitely for you!
Loved jennifer sages immortal dreams. full of fea, elves, she put a twist I have not seen in a fea book. Iseals charter evolves though story as she stuggles to learn the truth of her past and find the love of her life the fea world depends on her success. Hot novel
I've been struggling to get back in to paranormal romances recently, been reading too much angsty crap. Jennifer Sage has successfully given me a reminder of what I've been missing!
Far away lands, Castles, fairies, dragons ,elvens Oh my. When the fate of realms relay on you and the mate or partner you pick. It's seems simple but ones is true love the other a liar and pure evil. Now you been hidden from your past and raised by humans. To learn nothing is as it seems and the curse and magic put on you makes sense now on how every time a guy got near you light struck. When in doubt You want to yell at her to see the dam signs. Her best friend and guardian teaches her about her past ,her future and how to fight. Amele make a selfless deal for bff. There's true love you feel in your heart and lust is in your head. (less)
This is the first book i have read by this author and will so be looking for book two. This is one of those books that as you start to read the world fades and your captured in the book until the last page is turned. Loved Isabel and how she came to life as a strong and insecure woman to one who grows and matures as the book goes on. You really get to sense the struggle she feels in learning of the choice she has to make between the two men and what the consequences of that choice could turn out to be, although there some really wicked nice dream scenes in there also. Loved the supporting characters also they make it so you cant wait to see where the next story will be going i know i cant wait to read Ameles story next.
Immortal Dreams by Jennifer Sage a fab four-star read. This is the first book in the immortal dream series, it’s for over 18s as it does contain scenes of an adult nature. If you like paranormal romance, you will enjoy this book. Isabel Masters has always thought she was having a normal life, average college student, nothing interesting happens, just a normal run of the mill life. That is until she turns 22 years old. A series of strange dreams reveal things to her, and her life is changed forever, what was once normal safe and quiet life is now being torn in different directions. This is a great story that I don’t want to go into detail with as I don’t want to spoil the story.
***Please note book was gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review***
If you're wondering where my favorite quote is, I can't give you one. Immortal Dreams is a tale of a love triangle, that simply isn't. Our heroine, Isabel, finds herself being pursued by two powerful warriors of whom say, and do, all the right things. The thing is, only one truly wants and loves her for pure reasons. What's great about this book is it isn't blatantly obvious who she can truly trust but the fact that one is out to deceive her is noted to the reader almost right out the gate. I dug that. I can't give it away with a quote now can I? ;-)
First up, let's talk cover. While it had zero influence on my review, I will say that I don't particularly care for it. I don't feel a connection between it and the book itself, nor is it eye catching (in a positive way) and almost takes away instead of adding to...
Now to what really matters, the story itself. I really like this author, her worlds, her pacing and flow work for me. She can write a male lead that will keep you swooning til the very last page. Even when it was truly revealed who the traitor was, I still swooned! Now THAT is talent. lol I struggled to connect with Isabel though. I struggle, at times, with virginal 20 something characters. It's hard for me to stay invested when a simple term or two can take them from adulthood to sounding like a 14 year old. Isabel's choice, the journey itself isn't just a "coming of age" of sorts. If she chooses the wrong man, all hell will break loose (literally) and while she has a support system, a powerful best friend, Isabel must find her own way.
Amele, the best friend mentioned above, quickly stole the spotlight and I cannot wait to read more about her story and we share a love for water it seems....
Great series, great characters, all nestled within an enchanting world that you'll gladly get lost in.
This book is action packed and sexy from the start. Isabel is a 22 year old student living in a small town. She is frustrated because she wants to have a relationship with someone, she wants to have sex. Unfortunately, every time things start to heat up between herself and a man, a storm comes on, literally. Lightning, wind, and even a tornado. Everything changes on the night of her 22 birthday. Isabel wakes up in a strange land. There she meets Prince Bodhe. He tells her he is Sidhe and informs her that she is also. Things get intense between them and she wakes up. Was it all a dream? Where did her pj's go? Isabel then discovers a letter from her mother. Everything Bodhe told her is true. She must choose her true love from two men, Prince Bodhe of the Sidhe or Morkain an elf, to break a curse that is tearing apart the veils between the worlds and keeping her mother in a sleeping state. She has her best friend, Amele, to help her learn about her history and new abilities. But something sinister is afoot. Someone is scheming against Isabel. Is it Bodhe or Morkain? Who is her true love? She must choose the right man to save the worlds from darkness.
I loved this book. It was fun and sexy throughout. Isabel was trying so hard to determine which man she loved and not just be swept away by foreplay. The chemistry between Isabel and Bodhe was scorching. Immortal Dreams was also filled with suspense. I think I seesawed between Bodhe and Morkain at least every chapter. At first I thought Bodhe was evil because of his arrogance. Then I'd change my mind and think Morkain was bad because he didn't expect Isabel to do anything but enjoy his touch. Then it would be Bodhe again. My goodness, this book had me guessing till the end. Overall, I loved it, can't wait for Amele's story, and recommend it to anyone that loves a great story.
This book has been waiting on my TBR list for a long time now. I finally got to it! This is the first book written by Jennifer Sage, so there was no prior understanding on what to expect from her. I am a fan of fantasy, anything with magic or paranormal inclusions. After reading the blurb and seeing some promo for Immortal Dreams, I was very intrigued. I am so glad I got it, as it is a really enjoyable read!
I found the main female character, Isabel, to be a believable one. There are moments that I found her a tad "slow" with catching on to certain things which seemed obvious to me. I guess it was needed to allow her character the time needed to adjust and grow into her new information. She has been dropped a bomb loaded with information, but not ALL of it and is expected to make a choice which affects EVERYONE!!
I am NOT a spoiler giver when I write a review! I like to be surprised when I read, so I give that same courtesy to my fellow readers. I can say that this story DID remind me of styles I know from other authors. Cheyenne McCray and Katie MacAlister are two of my favorite authors. Both women use strong sassy type females with inner vulnerabilities. I sensed the same sort of thing with Author Sage in this book. I will say that the tale includes elves, the Sidhe, Elemental Gods, and more. My favorite character world by the author here is the "Uglies", it was very well described. I found the reading pace to go quickly, easy to picture the scenes and characters. I look forward to reading book 2, Immortal Bound.
The world this book was set in was very inventive. I especially liked that each race had it's own world or dimension instead of kingdom. I would classify it as modern fantasy if I had to pick a genre. With all worlds separated truly there is no need for fighting over land... unless you happen to be cut off from your food source... And the veil is failing.
I loved all the mystery that pervaded all things fantastic. She never quite knew who to trust or what was really going on around her. In a true coming of age story Isabel is completely unaware of her heritage or even that she is not human at all just cursed by a trickster goddess. Suspense peppered the romance with intrigue and uncertainty. Fantastic creatures were everywhere including our world(where she was hidden away until it was time for destiny to take over). As she comes into her powers(changing into her true self) the curse and predicament she is in are revealed ... Choose correctly or all the worlds will end.
I would reccomend this book to fantasy and romnce lovers everywhere. I think urban paranormal enthusiasts would also enjoy it. Personally I can't wait to read more of this series!
Honest Review Here! I got this as a free ebook during a promotional event from the author. (normally retails $0.99 in kindle store) A good friend of mine had recommended it to me previously so when I got the opportunity to read it for free I pounced on it. I'm so glad I did!
This is a well- written, well- edited and thoroughly enjoyable first novel. Many times, freebie books can be pretty dicey, full of spelling and grammar mistakes. Jennifer Sage's Immortal Dreams was a breath of fresh air. If I had to pick one criticism of the actual writing it would only be that within the dialogue there is a great deal of (what I perceive to be) disconnect in the way the characters talk in the book as opposed to real life. The characters in Immortal Dreams speak using a lot of 'shall's and 'thou's which for me, took the illusion of reality away a bit. (But. maybe the Elves and the Sidhe simply have better grammar than I do!) Overall, the dialogue made me raise my eyebrows a few times, but certainly didn't stop me from reading, or, now that I have finished the book, make me stop jonesing for the sequel.
Wow...just wow. I loved this book! This is a story about a girl called Isabel who finds out on her 22nd birthday that her life and identity is not what she thought it was. She finds out that she is a Sidhe/Elven Halfling and must choose between two suitors, Bodhe, a beautiful and sweet Sidhe prince and Morkain, a gloriously handsome Elven warrior. She must make the right choice as part of a prophecy in order to release her birth mother. The story had me on the tip of my toes, just when I thought I had guessed who she would and should choose, something would happen and I would change my mind. This book is so fabulously well-written, the world inside the story is so creative and well-built. I'm eagerly awaiting book 2 in the series now, and I have a feeling it will be Amele's story, and I cannot bloody wait for that!
The story of 22 year old Isabel and her best friend Amele. After a night of celebrating Isabel wakes to find that she is not who she thought she was. Orphaned when her parents died, she does not know much about them. But soon she is about to learn of her history, the secrets her parents hold, and her destiny.
For not only is she "halfling", she has special powers she will have to learn to use. Also she must chose between two men, if she picks the wrong one the magical realms from which she comes could be lost forever.
This was my first book by this author and it was amazing. This book was fast paced but the detail and info was given at just the right pace to not be completely overwhelming and made it easier to keep track and read.
Isabel has had some very unusual experiences when it comes to men but then she suddenly has two men trying to win her heart and only has 9 nights to choose between them and if she chooses the wrong one it could lose her everything.
We have some great fight scenes, some hot dreams, steamy foreplay and hot sex scenes as well as interesting development.
OMG I absolutely loved Isabel and Bodhe story. His love was so pure and true. Hated Morkain from the beginning-he got his just desserts lol. I loved Amele's sacrifice for her best friend and her "uglies" queen Delia and daughters. Ohh I loved the mystical and beautiful Larien. I soo want one. well I will have to find my own Sidhe prince because no-one can come between Isabel and Bodhe. I wish I had the inspiring words to give this book justice, but all I can say is it is breathtaking and intence. absolutely loved it and will continue the saga in Immortal Bound.
loved this book, fast paced, action packed with plenty of romance thrown in. couldn't put it down had to keep turning the pages to see how it ended. can't wait to start the second one.
I did not enjoy this, the writing was stilted, characters kept repeating the person's name that they were talking to.
“What’s happening here Morkain? Why do you look like you have just come from battle as well?”
“How can you still believe that Isabel?”
“You are mine Isabel, and the sooner you come to terms with that, the better off all of the worlds will be. .
“It’s fine Isabel, I will be healed in a few hours. But I am happy that you were distressed by that. It must mean that you care. Now you may ogle me from there or come to the tub with me but I am going to get clean now.
“I am not ogling Morkain, now please, get in that bath and rinse yourself off.”
“Morkain” she panted as his mouth consumed her breasts. “Please, not yet.”
“Why not Isabel? Do you not like this?”
“I want you Isabel, I am going crazy. I need your flesh in my mouth. Can you not see how consumed I am?”
I can go on, but frankly, i just dont care enough, it goes on like this through the entire book.
Isabel's reactions are completely over dramatic, teenage angst like.
Nothing less than I expect from Jennifer Sage, Immortal Dreams is per her usual style: Exquisite! From the start, I was drawn into an intricate tale of fantasy, passion, romance, and love. The characters are extremely well developed and the plot is fantastic.
Isabel must choose between two men who are extremely charming and charismatic, knowing one of them does not really love her. How does she choose one from the other? How will she know who is true and who is false?
Read on to fall in love with these wonderful characters. Who will you choose?
I have been waiting for this series to realise , it seems like forever. I have read all of Jennifer's books and I was not disappointed. This was a brilliant book . Jen always writes such amazing colorful worlds. I find myself really wanting to believe that these places exist. I love who our Isabel ends up with( no spoilers), but also found myself routing for the other too. If any wait to read Amele and the blue devils story.
The plot of this story is really good. The disconnect for me was the male characters. The author does a good job of portraying the female characters, but the male characters do not come across as a true male. They seem to lack some male insights.
