Amele must fulfill her binding to the Elemental God Nikolai, as was her promise. Is the warrior Queen ready for all that he will demand of her however? Cold hearts and stubborn ways make for a fascinating adventure on just what it means to keep your word in the Immortal Realms.

My latest release, urban fantasy romance that is steeped in the Norse Mythology of Ragnarok, is the first of its kind in the adult market. It just won an award for best New Adult Romance a month from being published. I'm quite pleased with the reactions from both contemporary and fantasy romance readers alike for "The Last Valkyrie."

Here I sit again at my computer trying to come up with words to sum up another book. Usually the words flow easily and I can get exactly what I want (and need) to say about a book out without much hesitation or even thought on my behalf. Not that those reviews are thoughtless on my behalf, but more clear to what to say about them. This book has proven to not be the case at the moment.
Immortal Bound is book 2 in the Immortal series by Jennifer Sage. This story follows Amele as she fulfills her binding to the Elemental God of Water, Nikolai. This story recaps some of things from book one, her aspect of things, before her being taken to the Nikolai's home to fulfill her agreement to him.
****If you have not read Immortal Dreams, please do so first as Isabel and parts of her story are revealed and visited in this book. It will ruin the story if you do not read it.****
So as I sat down to read this book, I already loved Amele's character from Book 1. The was not only a fierce warrior, but she was kind and compassionate and funny as hell! She doesn't let down in book 2 either. Ha!
"Ooo a God, forgive me. It was not part of the bargain for me to worship you ... So either come here and treat me however you need to ... Or you may leave and let me finish my bath." ~Amele~
She would not cower or beg and it drove Nikolai NUTS.
“Sister she is impossible! I can hardly tolerate her insolence! She dares speak to a God that way when she should be groveling at my feet, bending to my every whim. What has happened that they have lost their fear of us?” ~Nikolai~
Both are stubborn and fight each other at every turn. Both were trying to play the same game and often backfires happened...more than once actually. Amele stands her ground against the Elemental and he pushes just as hard back.
This book was a damn roller coaster of emotions...seriously. I feel weird saying that about this genre (as stated in my other review not my fav genre), but it was truly. The way Ms. Sage has written this book and previous, has you unable to do anything but feel for the characters and lose yourself in the story. You become them. I have never screamed so much at a book than I did with this one. My stomach was in knots, I was shaking, tears were shed, anger flared...it was just an emotionally filled book.
I sit back digesting what I have just read and think to myself "By Gods, I want one for myself" HA!
Ms. Sage, I cannot express the amount of gratitude that I feel for you allowing me the honor to read these. In every single page I felt something and had to keep turning the pages. Your gift to pull the reader in and not only become part of the story, but truly believe these worlds, races exist is amazing. You have a serious talent here and I look forward to reading more from you in the future. I wish you all the success that these books (and future ones) are sure to bring you. Thank you so much again.
I was waiting on pins and needles for when this book came out.The only reason i didn't review it then was i simply got busy unfortunately. This book ,this series is so awesome. Jennifer Sage keeps getting better and better. If you read the first one read this one for sure your going to love delving deeper into this world she has created and added to. If you've not read the first one read this anyway AND the first one. I cant get enough of Jennifer Sage she is truly magical how she makes you become the character it's truly not just a story of this person or that and all this filler of what happens, you truly feel as if you've been reborn into a new person and you don't ever want to change that. This book is so filled to the brim of wonderful and dark magic, adventure, love, fantasy, mystery its absolutely a one of a kind I can't get enough of it I've read it have a dozen times already and I really do have to keep coming back to read it some more. I loved the first book in this series but this book WOW that is all encompassing. You cant walk away from this book and feel the same its truly amazing Jennifer Sage is an amazing story teller she doesn't do what you expect she brings something new and fresh and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us in future books. Love your work Jennifer I hope you write more soon I'm on pins and needles waiting for more more books more stories more more more.
Amele, an immortal Sidhe, bound herself to Elemental God, Nikolai, to save her loved ones. She promised to bear his child. From the start, their time together is a battle of wills. Amele refuses to bow down to the sexy God. Nikolai is intrigued by the Queen that shows no fear. When they finally admit their love for one another, forces try to pull them apart. What will happen to their budding love? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles thrown at them?
Again I loved this book. It was just as good as, if not better, than the first. I loved the battle of wills between Amele and Nikolai. They were both so stubborn. It was funny how Nikolai expected Amele to worship him. My heart broke a little at the thought that Nikolai knew little about love. The chemistry between Amele and Nikolai was steamy. I loved how the emotionless Gods started to interact more with the immortals and show more emotion. My heart broke when Amele and Nikolai were torn apart for breaking the laws of the Gods. This book was well written and easy to read. It is another great paranormal romance by Jennifer Sage.
Holy Cow!! From the moment I started reading Immortal Bound, I DID NOT WANT TO STOP! I have read Book 1, Immortal Dreams, Isabel’s story and couldn’t wait for Immortal Bound-Amele and Nikolai’s story. Jennifer has a way of making you fall in love with her characters and want to know what happens next. Once again, her visionary and imagination takes you on a journey with Amele and Nikolai and what a wild and emotional journey it was. I never felt so much emotion in a book before. To be shocked or tear up while reading a book-yeah, she did something right.
Amele is not your typical female-she was Queen of her lands and also a kick-ass warrior. Nikolai is a God of the Water Elementals and knew there was something special in Amele. Together, they heat up the pages and trust me you don’t want it to stop! I have only one issue-----waiting for the next book! Jennifer Sage is definitely an author you want to keep an eye.
She currently has three books out.
Keltor – The Guardian Archives Immortal Dreams Immortal Bound
I was looking forward to reading this and i wasn't disappointed, it was even better then i expected.
We learn more about the gods, have some battle of wills, fight scenes, hot steamy sex scenes, again everything was paced nicely and enjoyed glimpses from more then one point off view.
I love Amele, she is strong, very protective and not afaird to put a God in his place. Also loved learning more about Elemental God Nikolai and seeing how he handled Amele.
I laughed, i cried, i felt like begging, on the edge of my seat, cheering them on, wishing to strangle a few people or slap them awake.
omg this book was awesome if you read the first book then you will most defiantly love this one its Amele and Nikolia and how they fall in love and fight for their right to love each other they have to fight against a jealous goddess named Reisha who in her anger lets loose a horde of daemons and other unthinkable creatures to destroy both world will they win will they get their happily ever after well you will have to read the book to find out. five gold stars well earned and definatly worth buying!!!
"Please, take my strength, take my love, take my mark upon you and never doubt that you are mine. That I am yours."
~Nikolai
***Please note book was gifted by author in exchange for an honest review***
Immortal Bound picks up where Immortal Dreams left off and wow does Amele have her hands full! The Warrior Queen was an easy stand out in book one and in this installment, she truly meets her match. Amele is a strong, independent and prideful woman and even though she's long had eyes for the Elemental God Nikolai, she won't come easy.
Nikolai has always felt something was missing, though having any and every woman he so chooses at his beck and call isn't one of them. A deal is a deal but damn if he didn't want her to enjoy it! The attraction is palpable, a battle of wills and so it goes...
Immortal Bound is definitely my favorite of the of the series thus far. It felt more solid in both character development and flow of the story. In some books, the reader is simply handed the couple and expected to get it, to love them. Ms. Sage did a great job of selling her couple to me. While it wasn't so much of a slow burn, I never found myself wondering what he saw in her or vice versa. The surprising pairing made sense and maintained great chemistry throughout without being fully dependent on strong sexual aspect of said chemistry.
Nikolai and Amele's journey was a bumpy one and let's just remind ourselves for a moment that there's nothing like a woman scorned. That brings me to their supporting cast. I love grey characters and Nikolai's siblings struck an interest in me, here's hoping there is much more of them to come. Also, someone very close and loyal to Amele comes into her own a bit and I suspect she will have a large role in book three. I love the feel of this series where the otherwise feared races, the unknowns, are more than their clinical definitions and find themselves drawn to those that such a pairing is unheard of and in most cases unacceptable. This paves the way for suspense, danger and forbidden romance...WINx3!
This series must be read in order. The first book is Immortal Dreams.
The first book in this series starts out modern fantasy and quickly morphs into straight fantasy. This book is just pure fantasy :) I have never read a sequel quite like this. The supporting character from the last book Amele is the main charcter in this one and her story is way more amazing than I could have ever imagined! Being voluntarily bound to an Elemental God is way more complicated than it at first appears.
There is loads of suspence and romance in this book. The fantasy setting lends a pretty backdrop for the adventure and thrills. I would reccomend this series to fantasy an paranormal lovers everywhere.
Immortal Bound: Amele (Immortal Dreams, #2) (by Jennifer Sage)
Amele, a warrior Queen is promised to the God Nikolai. Although apprehensive she must learn to live with him and obey him. It is an adjustment to her but she is determined to keep her word.
Immortal bound picks up perfectly where book one Isabel(Immortal Dreams, #1) left off. Some questions are answered and there is adventure and intense drama through out the story. Amele is very likable, she is a tough woman, but also has a soft side. I really enjoyed this read.
"I am here my Lord, let us go and take your sleet and rain from this Day of Light! I want to get this over with!" Amele was not happy about going with Nikolai, the Water Elemental God. She was grateful though, that despite his having a blue tint to his skin, he was gorgeous.
I felt like I was that proverbial fly on the wall through this whole book! I was right there! The descriptions painted with Ms. Sage's words were vivid and not a detail was missed. This is, as the title states, the second book in the "Immortal Bound" set. Fantasy, Romance, Suspense, maybe even Paranormal...this most awesome read spans multiple genre in this reviewers humble opinion.
Existence is divided between at least three planes, those that live in our world, Earth, those that live in the in between realms, and the Gods above all. I would highly recommend that you read the first book so you have a bit more of background information. So without leaving spoilers for either of these books in my review we will suffice it to say Amele was Isabels protector. Being the protector is what, in the long run, leads to her punishment, her "binding". Nikolai has bound Amele to him until she produces his child for him, how ever long that takes. She is determined to not enjoy her time with him, to not like him, to get him his kid and get home. What is that saying, the best laid plans of mice and men...except in this instance our mouse is a Sidhe Queen and our man is a blue tinted God. Amele is a very strong willed independent female that is both a Queen to her people and a kick butt warrior. Nikolai is the Water Elemental God and doesn't realize it but he is lonely and unhappy. It takes punishing Amele for him to realize this and have his wants and needs awakened like they have never been before.
There are actually several directions that you take on this journey, but ultimately they all end up in the same spot...the end of the book. Suspense, romance, battles, power plays, demon like bad guys and so much more...and yes plenty of "steam" in many scenes! With so many pieces to this written puzzle you would think that pieces would get lost, but I think Ms. Sage puts them all together so well that nothing is misplaced and the reader is not lost, or I wasn't at any rate. I fell in love with her characters and story, I felt she grew from writing her first book to this one and I love being a part of an authors growth. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Sage! Happy Reading!!
This is book 2 for the Immortal Series from Author Jennifer Sage. I really enjoyed the story of Isabel in book 1, Immortal Dreams. This second book is a stunner! Very quick paced, lots of intensity!
Immortal Bound is the perspective of Amele, a Sidhe Queen and skilled warrior. She is introduced in book 1 and plays a major part there, so DO be sure to read the books in order. The other main player in this book is Nickolai, the Elemental God of Water. Where book 1 gave us a glimpse of the Immortal realms and the races there, book 2 gives more insight to the world of the Elemental Gods/Goddess's and how THEY view the realms.
Author Sage has done an outstanding job with her world building! There are so many layers going on, lots of intrigue within the realms and the characters. I found the imagery very easy to stick with, some is very surreal and when you are dealing with GODS you DO want that! :) The emotion of the characters involved is so genuine, I wanted to be in that world! There are a couple of characters that I found myself loving to HATE, that adds so much to the credence of the tale. There is lots of passion, there is action, some suspense...overall a GREAT read! I hope it is not TOO long of a wait for another installment (hint, hint Ms. Sage, LOL)
Immortal Bound picks up where Immortal Dreams leaves off. In this book, the main characters are Amele and the Elemental God Nikolai. The story is a fiery ride as Amele and Nikolai have a clash of wills. In addition, there are some surprises along the way. Along with this, one of the other Elemental Gods wants a war.
I found myself wrapped up in the story and rooting for Amele and Nikolai. The ending was intriguing and the story wrapped up nicely. As with the first book, the characters we are introduced in this one are well-developed with the exception of the Goddess Coventina. I would have liked to know more about how she was created wrong. Maybe that will be explained in any future books.
As with the first one, I read it in one afternoon. I would recommend it for a day at the beach. Also, this is a Paranormal Romance for 18+.
This book was amazing!! If you have not read the first book you really need to because the story begins with the first book and continues here. The realm of immortals Jennifer has created is both captivating and beautiful. You are drawn into this world with the words that are so vivid you can see them in your mind. This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and you may even want to yell at the words on the page a time or two, I know I did. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Sage writes in the future because she has a fan from here on out!! I highly recommend this book if you like paranormal romance.
God I love the way this women thinks! I love the way she can tell a story in so many ways! Amele is the girl everyone wants to be... adored by a God who will do everything for her! It's the most intense story I've read in a long time! My eyes were actualy hurting from reading because I wasn't able to put down my freaking tablet! Once you start reading, you just can't stop! I know there will be more great work from Jennifer because it would be a sin if she stops giving us a piece of her mind! She's got me hooked!
This was well written and the characters are just as strongly written as before. In Immortal Bound we pick up right where Immortal Dreams leaves off. It focuses on Amele, a warrior queen who has bound herself to Nikolai a Water Elemental God to save her loved ones. You can just imagine how that goes. Needless to say, you will get a good chuckle. Jennifer Sage is definitely an author you want to keep an eye on.
This was an exciting book with gods and fantasy. It has a warning that it's for a mature reader that lead me to think there would be a lot of sex. There is sex and it can be graphic. This isn't just a sex story. There is so much more, rituals and swords and fights and sex. It maybe for an adult, but it's a lot more. This is a fantasy story that I got hooked on and stayed glued to.
Even though you know how it's going to turn out the road to get there was nice. I liked the action in this book and the romance. I kinda wish it was a 3rd book in the series.
