"I am here my Lord, let us go and take your sleet and rain from this Day of Light! I want to get this over with!" Amele was not happy about going with Nikolai, the Water Elemental God. She was grateful though, that despite his having a blue tint to his skin, he was gorgeous.
I felt like I was that proverbial fly on the wall through this whole book! I was right there! The descriptions painted with Ms. Sage's words were vivid and not a detail was missed. This is, as the title states, the second book in the "Immortal Bound" set. Fantasy, Romance, Suspense, maybe even Paranormal...this most awesome read spans multiple genre in this reviewers humble opinion.
Existence is divided between at least three planes, those that live in our world, Earth, those that live in the in between realms, and the Gods above all. I would highly recommend that you read the first book so you have a bit more of background information. So without leaving spoilers for either of these books in my review we will suffice it to say Amele was Isabels protector. Being the protector is what, in the long run, leads to her punishment, her "binding". Nikolai has bound Amele to him until she produces his child for him, how ever long that takes. She is determined to not enjoy her time with him, to not like him, to get him his kid and get home. What is that saying, the best laid plans of mice and men...except in this instance our mouse is a Sidhe Queen and our man is a blue tinted God. Amele is a very strong willed independent female that is both a Queen to her people and a kick butt warrior. Nikolai is the Water Elemental God and doesn't realize it but he is lonely and unhappy. It takes punishing Amele for him to realize this and have his wants and needs awakened like they have never been before.
There are actually several directions that you take on this journey, but ultimately they all end up in the same spot...the end of the book. Suspense, romance, battles, power plays, demon like bad guys and so much more...and yes plenty of "steam" in many scenes! With so many pieces to this written puzzle you would think that pieces would get lost, but I think Ms. Sage puts them all together so well that nothing is misplaced and the reader is not lost, or I wasn't at any rate. I fell in love with her characters and story, I felt she grew from writing her first book to this one and I love being a part of an authors growth. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Sage! Happy Reading!!
