Free-wheeling rogue Flynn Devlin roars into Marisa Matheson's well-ordered life on a Harley, with a devil-may-care attitude, a body made for sin, and an Irish lilt that could charm the panties off a nun.
Exactly the kind of bad boy she doesn't need.
Except Flynn also possesses magic talent with a camera--something she desperately needs to keep her wedding planning business from tanking after her regular photographer is injured.
Flynn Devlin is the only thing standing between Marisa and complete financial ruin.
He's also hiding a damning secret from her. All in the name of love, but still...Flynn knows that when the lass who's capturing his heart as easily as he captures images finds out he's not what he claims to be, all hell will break loose.
And his devil-may-care attitude doesn't include his heart.
Because this devil doesn't want just a fling with his stubbornly independent lass...he wants forever,
When her dreams of becoming a ballerina were quashed by early-onset klutziness, Diana Duncan took up the safer vocation of writing. Her first thrilling masterpiece—written in orange crayon—was titled “Perky the Kitten,” and became an instant bestseller with her grandparents.
Her childhood growing up as a military brat gave her ability to leap into a conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime…and she always discovers a new friend in the process. This gift of gab perfectly equipped her for a career that involves making stuff up.
Di is famous for using seven words when one will do. She wields smart-assery like a samurai sword, and will be the first to volunteer in a catastrophe. Of course, she was probably the one who caused the catastrophe.
She’s fiercely loyal to her friends and family…but in the event of the upcoming zombie apocalypse, she won’t hesitate to use them as human shields.
She loves her job as an author, and claims writing is the most fun she’s ever had while wearing her sock monkey pajamas. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and adopting abandoned curbside furniture to refurbish into treasures.
The Develins guys are absolutely yummylicious. They are a family of ten brothers and sisters including some sets of twins. Flynn is the youngest of the lot. Contrary to the last Marie Force series sets in Vermont, the relationships and banters between the brothers and sisters are really well done and that's what I liked the most in the book.
The Develins are Irish Americans but someone has to explain to me how people born and raised in Portland, Oregon have the Irish brogue. As far as I know we do not inherit of our ancestors accent but pick it up where we live.
Okay this is my all time FAVORITE contemporary romance book, while I'm bummed the rest of the series won't be happening (Bye-bye stripper doctor man) I still loved this book! Flynn is the bad boy with a soft heart all women want but few get.
I want my own Flynn.. Some one to talk sweet nothings in my ear in a Irish lilt.
When Flynn was 10 and told a wee bit of a lie to his father, his father gave him some wise advise. "Flynn, everyone bolloxes up now and again. But the difference between lads in short pants and men, is that a real man always admits his mistakes...and then makes them right." Flynn's father died 5 months later leaving his mother to raise a brood of kids on her own. Flynn grew up and wanted to make it rich which he did. He had it all. He worked for a big investment firm and was on the fast track. But two partners in the business convinced him to do a risky deal and at the last minute they pulled out leaving him holding the bag and losing all of his client’s money. After being cleared from the FBI of any wrong doing he was overwhelmed with guilt and lost his job. The only client that stood behind him was a friend from high school who helped him get back on his feet and pay all of those clients back whose money he lost.
Now years later that friend has asked him an enormous favor. As he is scoping out said job and pretending to be napping under a tree his "mark" comes marching over to him begging him to use his camera to finish taking pictures of a wedding since the photographer they had, had fallen off the church balcony and broke his arm.
Marisa Matheson along with her two best friends runs a wedding planning business. Marisa runs a tight ship and is so uptight she practically squeaks. Flynn is just the opposite these days since his downfall. He is very laid back and oozes with the Irish charm. Said charm annoys Marisa to no end in the beginning. But after seeing how Flynn can take a bride who isn’t on the pretty side and make her look gorgeous in pictures without using any fancy software program.
When she sees how much business Flynn suddenly brings in she puts her annoyance with the too good looking for his own good and sexy as sin accent aside because she is about to lose the business as the bank is calling in her loan and she doesn’t have the money to pay for it.
I have to tell you these Devlin men are hot hot hot. Flynn never once just jumped on Marisa when she offered. He wanted to have her on his terms and he wasn’t going to let her sidetrack things with quick summer shag. But there was also his little bit of guilt of also using her to get the information he needed for his friend.
Diana Duncan delivers another winner in her Devilish Devlins series!
Marisa has a fledgling wedding planning business, her partners also happen to be her best friends Travis and Nick and all of their futures are at stake based on their current wedding. Disaster strikes when the wedding photographer has to be rushed to the hospital. In a moment of panic Marisa spies a man, Flynn Devlin, who just might be able to save the day and gives him an offer her can't refuse, if he steps in and takes wedding photos.
Flynn Devlin is the baby of clan Devlin, the easy come, easy go bad boy. At least that is the image he presents. Underneath that bad boy image is a sensitive, caring man, don't let my description fool you, Flynn is 100% alpha with DOM traits. Flynn is the type of man, should she want one, workaholic, stuffy, uptight Marisa Matheson would never pick for herself, yet she is drawn to him.
The sparks between Flynn and Marisa fly from the beginning and never stop. Flynn and his sexy brogue prove to be too much for Marisa to resist, but she does not give in easy, which leads to an intriguing, hot and funny story. Three days later and I am still fanning myself over Mr. Flynn Devlin, yes this is a mainstream romance, but Ms. Duncan knows how to create make you melt smexin' without being erotic...I would say Flynn is five alarm hot!
Devil May Care is a well paced, funny, sexy, intense romance with a multi-faceted hero and heroine, secondary cast that seamlessly flows with the story and a lot of HEART! I am not only in love with the entire Devlin clan, I have fallen in love with Travis and Nick as well.
This is a must read for anyone who loves engaging characters and a sweet sexy romance!
An enjoyable light read. Yet another of the hunky Devlin boys, this time Flynn, the black leather clad, motorcycle riding, sensitive photographer, hot, hot, hot man crosses paths with our heroine Marisa, tightly wound control freak co-owner of a bridal planning service (along with her two hunky gay co-owners...one of whom finds his own match along the way...we hope). She's in a bind, her photographer having fallen off the balcony in pursuit of the perfect wedding shot, and Flynn just happens to be lounging in the park across the street with his expensive camera draped over the nearby motorcycle. Of course, he's there because he is on some un-named mission that requires him to stalk Marisa and her business. Of course, sparks ignite, he's an amazing photographer (oh, and amazing at EVERYTHING else) and Marisa hires him for a short-term fill-in. Many adventures ensue, bringing Flynn and Marisa finally in bed together and later in love...and of course, all ends well. Duncan's Devlin family may be the best romance creation ever, with a passel of hunky Irish boys, all big and gorgeous with a range of professions and a close family relationship. They are delightful -- and I wish they were not fiction...but darn, they are. Brody gets the next turn...can't wait to read!
I do love weddings, the excitement ,the beautiful dresses and of course the cake but long after the ceremony is over and the food has been eaten and the dress packed away, it's the photographs that bring back all the feelings and emotions of the day for everyone. I'm sure Marisa would look at them and remember the unfortunate accident that led to the filling of that empty space in her heart by Flynn. There is a lot more to photography than just snapping a picture and Flynn does have the talent needed to make even the plainest bride shine with love and that ability translated into being able to see that special something inside Marisa's heart but I warn you like a chocolate kiss, it is very hard to stop with just one Devlin or ,indeed, one Duncan, once you open that first one and finish you will want more!
Well, you can't get any better than a loving family of Beautiful Irish. Devil May Care is book two in the Devilish Devlins series by Diana Duncan. Each book gets better and better, we get to know the family, the extended family a little better each time we visit. This book has it all, a beautiful, but troubled female lead, her two pretty sidekicks, the three of them with a start up business. In walks our Hero to save the day. He's beautiful, honorable, everything each woman's fantisy envisions. Way to go Ms. Duncan! Now, I have to sit and wait for book 3, who stars the sexy Irish Cop brother! Wow!
Who needs erotica when there's Diana Duncan! In the second book to her Devilish Devlins series, the heat got turned up with the story of Flynn. I don't do reviews but I feel I have to let everyone know what a great book this is. I was very surprised that Flynn's character held so much emotion within. As the "bad" boy, his charm, wit, devil-take-charge attitude and oh, lets not forget the accent....well, I hope your central air is turned down to the 20's because this book is filled with a lot of hotness!
After reading the first in this series, I was excited to read the second and the author did not disappoint. Thank you to Ms. Duncan for introducing me to my future husband - too bad Flynn is fictional! Fast-paced, well-written I enjoyed this book and the characters from beginning to end. Her sense of humor makes me laugh out loud, her sex scenes make me squirm (in a good way), and she makes me care about the characters and their situations. I hope there are more books in this series forthcoming!
This book has everything anyone could possibly want. Flynn is a sexy, heart stopping, witty, and has an Irish lithe that will melt any girls panties. This bad boy rides in on a motorcycle to help a wedding planner take photographs. But the steamy scenes between the two are unbelievable. A must read. Also # 2 in a series.
I loved this book just as much as the first one. Flynn and Marisa were great! I got so involved in the story, I hated to see it end. Marisa and Flynn were perfect together and overcame the obstacles for their happily-ever-after. Love this family and look forward to the next book.
Lovedlovedlovedlovedloved this one! The first one was already really good and this one wasn't a dissapointment either. The storyline is fun, the characters very likable and I couldn't put it down.
