The town of Riverwood is a strange one and poor Eric Donnelly gets caught up quickly in the spookiness of the town. Eric is a likeable eighteen-year-old who is trying to escape his parents’ fighting. Things weren’t going his way back in his home town in New York so he decides to stay with his uncle Dan, but that is a horrible mistake.

Victor Devlin is a sociopath and murderer who escaped justice many years ago by some unknown means after killing so many people. He was last seen driving an old-time ambulance. When Eric’s uncle Dan buys the house where Victor lived and died, he sets everything in motion unexpectedly again.

Evil Ambulance is a wonderful horror story that will keep you guessing until the very end. The idea of an ambulance as a vehicle of horror is unique since ambulances are used to help people. I don’t want to give away any of the surprises but Mark Rinker keeps the story interesting with different twists and turns you don’t expect. The reader is drawn into Eric’s life because it seems so normal. He seems so normal- the perfect all American kid. But Evil Ambulance will make you wonder about Eric’s real life and whether or not things are as they seem in the town of Riverwood.

If you enjoy scary stories with surprises that keep you reading, you are going to love Evil Ambulance. You may not want to see one anytime soon though!
