Rate this book
This innovative manual presents a powerful approach for helping people manage bipolar illness and protect against the recurrence of manic or depressive episodes. Interpersonal and social rhythm therapy focuses on stabilizing moods by improving medication adherence, building coping skills and relationship satisfaction, and shoring up the regularity of daily rhythms or routines. Each phase of this flexible, evidence-based treatment is vividly detailed, from screening, assessment, and case conceptualization through acute therapy, maintenance treatment, and periodic booster sessions. Among the special features are reproducible assessment tools and a chapter on how to overcome specific treatment challenges.

For insiders.
An indispensable book for anyone who works with bipolar patients. A little dated (2005) therefore not updated in the bibliography, but always useful to read and consult. In the treatment of patients with bipolar disorder it is essential to know the clinic of the disorder, to identify it, the pharmacology to treat it, but also to consider other aspects of the life of these patients; aspects that act in their microcosm and that, if taken into consideration, allow to customise the therapy and correct some of the relapse factors giving real support to the patient not only with drugs. A basic, didactic book, full of clinical cases and practical files that should not be missing in the library of every psychiatrist.

For insiders.
