Food Blogging for Dummies is a gorgeous resource that takes you by the hand to show you everything you need to start your blogging venture. It is written in a concise and encouraging tone so that you feel like a friend is tutoring you step by step.
I like this a bit more than Blogging for Dummies because it contains beautiful instructional color photos throughout the entire book. If I had to choose one, it'd be this book because it has a bit more guidance in how to make your blog visually stunning. Food Blogging for Dummies also goes into detail on how to set up and take quality photographs.
I love the layout of the book and it will be one I refer to again and again.
An added bonus: Kelly Senyei mentions many popular blogs, so you may discover a new favorite blog to explore while learning how to set yours up.
Well, it appears that the 'For Dummies' series is starting to gain some maturation. In the early days, the series was used to teach pretty straight forward software, hardware and 'lifestyle' tricks. But this book by Kelly Senyei is at least as good as any research material I have read on food blogging.
Yes it is a 'how to' guide. Theorists of food and the read write web will require more complex theorizations and scholarship. But for writers interested in how to configure effective blogs, manage content and configure effective photographs within them - this book is a ripper.
Many tips for total blogging beginners like "How does Wordpress work", "What is SEO" and so on. Had some really good parts, too. Especially when it comes to food photography and inspirations from other foodbloggers (though I didn't know anyone of them so far.)
This is required reading for future cooking bloggers. I learned great tips on blog design, food styling and photography, growing your readership and much more. I have pages of notes!
Anyone who wants to start a blog, any kind of blog, should read this book. It is a must read for any new food blogger. Great pictures, great examples and great tips!
If you're a novice blogger then I'd highly recommend this book. If you're familiar with WordPress or Blogger then a lot of the content will be unnecessary
