Jessica has finally passed her challenge, elevated from draft pony to show pony. She still struggles to come to terms with this new life, a life where her waking and sleeping life are filled with bondage, confinement, and punishment when she breaks the rules. She knows, though, that it will be a better life now that her days as a draft pony are behind her.
But this all changes when a new girl is brought into the Officer's mill. For now, the new girl is the draft pony, filling the role that Jessica left behind. But for how long? Jessica can quickly see that the new girl is stronger than her, faster than her. In a fair competition, Jessica knows that she would lose. What will Jessica do to ensure her place as the show pony? How far will she go to protect her newly won status?
This book, the second installment of The Mayor's Daughter Trilogy, features strict bondage and pony play as Jessica and the new girl struggle within the confines of the Officer's mill. It picks up right where the last book ends off, exploring Jessica's new life as a show pony. Fans of the first book will find the same level of detailed, intricate bondage in the sequel, but with the added psychological element of the interplay between Jessica and the new ponygirl.
A long and rather twisting road has led me to where I am today. Originally a college drop-out when I made the mistake of thinking I'd make a good engineer, I have since returned to and graduated from Law School.
I've had more jobs than I can count, each providing me with varied experiences that make up who I am today. I've flipped burgers, sold cars, guarded banks, and defended criminals (innocent and otherwise).
I write erotic, non-consensual fiction that involves bondage elements.
Jessica aka Sierra is now joined by Amanda. Amanda is renamed to Nevada. Poor Amanda is under age and caught drinking by the sadistic cop. Amanda is different than Jessica because she's a soccer athlete. She has a better chance to be a better draft pony faster than Jessica.
This second installment is fucked up. I don't know now to put this nicely. I really hated the cop in this book. He's a sadistic son of a bitch and should be shot. Shooting him would be way too kind. We are treated to another round of pony girl training with Jessica watching Amanda forced through the early stages. Amanda is receiving a much rougher treatment. At various points of the story I'm hoping Amanda just dies. Death would be kinder. I'm so irritated at this amoral cop who sets the girls up for failure. There is no win here. Even the rewards are punishment.
This story is total non-con. There is no question about the content. Obviously, this story is purely fantasy because there is no bloody way a person can survive the tortures here. Okay, well, maybe those hardcore military guys who are POW. They probably survive worse, but this story is about young girls. There is no body modification which is unusual for a pony girl story. The intense training for a draft versus a show pony is one of the harshest I've read. It isn't sexy at all or arousing. It's full on non-con.
I'm mixed about this story. I despised the main male character. Jessica and Sierra I liked. There wasn't a chance to learn more about them because they spend the majority of the book screaming their heads off. The writing is smooth and moves pretty fast. The world building is just enough so we know why the guy is doing all of this. What we don't know is the end game. Where is this going? At this point, I think the girls are going to die. The ending however is a twist I didn't expect and is left with a cliff hanger. Fortunately, I have book three so I'm going to find out the conclusion to this totally fucked up BDSM fantasy tale. I still give this book a 3.5 not because it is written by a friend. More because the writing style is good and the story is creative. My loathing for the male character is what brings the rating down. Since I only truncate, this is coming across as 3 star on GR. This book is ONLY recommended for BDSM readers who enjoy SM to the extreme. There is absolutely NO romance in this book and nothing sensual. If you like vampires who sparkle in all various shades, do NOT read this book.

The thing about the first book was it was the near perfect crime. Jessica wasn't missing - everyone thought she was dead. No one was looking for her. Our psycho could do whatever he wanted and had all the time in the world.
Allison was a very different situation. If she didn't turn up by Sunday night, people were going to start looking for her. The circumstances around her disappearance were a little fuzzy but not that much. I do have to say that Allison was a little more interesting to read about because she was more of a natural submissive. But I think he is confusing submissiveness with weakness.
The whole "Sierra" "Nevada" thing was a little too cute for the website watchers - if they actually exist. I am still undecided on that one.
Playing the two girls against each other was exactly what I would have expected him to do. And he was good at it. But I think things are starting to unravel a bit - and not just because of the last page.
I kind of took a long break in the middle of this because I got pressed for time and I wasn't really enjoying it. I am glad to have it done and look forward to the third book because I am hoping one character in particular is going to have a bad time soon.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I rated it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

My Review: Jessica thought that when she passed her test to be show pony that things might get a little better for her. Unfortunately, she was wrong, being show pony brings a whole new set of trials and torture.
College student Allison is celebrating with her fellow soccer team mates after winning an important game. Knowing she has a long drive in the morning, Allison leaves the bar early and heads to her apartment. She's almost there when she sees flashing red lights in her rear view mirror. The officer seems nice enough, but there's something eerie about him. Allison doesn't pass the breathalyzer and because she's under 21, the officer tells her she has to go into the police station. Everything after she's taken to his police car, is a blur and Allison can't believe some of the things the officer is saying over the radio. Instead of taking his new acquisition to the station like she thought, the kidnapper takes her to his family's mill. After being shoved inside the door and half-drug along behind the officer, Allison is stunned to see a women tied and dressed strangely in some leather contraption.
After hearing approaching footsteps, Jessica sees another woman in chains has been brought to the mill. Thinking that now there are two of them and one of him, they might stand a chance at escape, but her idea is quickly squashed when the man pits the two women against each other, without them realizing it. Both women are subjected to unthinkable tortures and mind games. An unexpected interruption occurs when a police woman enters the mill with gun drawn. Is she there to help Jessica and Allison? Or is she there to join in on their torment?
Mayor's Daughter II: Stablemate by Will Versuch takes up where book 1 ends. The kidnapper is very meticulous in his hunt for his victims. Mr. Versuch shows the man plans, watches and picks his victims carefully. Jessica's character shows acceptance in her situation, but she is ever watchful for a chance at escape. She did things to survive that I know I could have never done. Jessica does seem to grow up some toward the end of the book. Allison is very easy to like and to sympathize with her predicament. She's very emotional, so it's hard for her to hid her emotions from her kidnapper. Her character adds to the depth and dimension of the story, with a different twist added to the mix. And of course there's the kidnapper. He's very diabolical, scheming, perverted and sadistic. I disliked him more and more as the story progressed and wanted nothing more than for him to get caught and be made to endure some of the same things he's done to Jessica and Allison. Mr. Versuch describes in great detail everything that is being done to the girls, it's very graphic. So much so, you feel like you are there in the mill watching instead of reading. I did enjoy reading The Mayor's Daughter II: Stablemate for the writing style of the author. The only thing I disliked was all the typos in the book, there were so many, it took me out of the story at times.
This book picks right up where the first one left off. Jessica has finally gotten to show pony status, when a new girl is brought in. She experiences the same torture and induction that Jessica went through and has now taken on the spot of draft pony. The extreme SM in this book is more intense than the first one. The Officer character takes things to a much higher level of extreme behavior to the point where I squirmed in my chair a bit, and not for the usual reasons. Pain and pleasure are one thing, but this scenario had a non-con element that could very well disturb some readers. That being said, the story sucked me in and I found myself cheering for the girls and having to know what came next.
This is a very intense read that will suck you in. Be prepared that the pony play in this series is very intense and the Officer picks people that will not be missed and are in need of correction. Not everyone will agree on the level of non-con that is acceptable, but in this case as a total fantasy scenario it works.
I liked this one more than the first! When I read the blurb before starting the book, I thought that I would be rooting for Jessica and hoping Allison failed. Once I started the book, my feelings changed, though. It was a sadistic move by Will Versuch to tell the story from alternating pov's, because I felt sorry for both girls and was unable to pick who I was feeling more sympathetic towards. The mind games played on both girls were great! I can't imagine myself in either of their situations, but I'm sure I would have had the same 'anything-to-make-this-more-bearable-for-me' mindset. One thing that pulled me out of the first story were editing errors, but with this one, there either weren't any, or I was so into the story I didn't notice!
Finally got around to reading this and if you wanted something like the first one you won't be dissapointed. There is a cliffhanger at the end which made it all the better. Watching two girls struggle with torture really tugs at your heartstrings. Not a book for everyone but it was well written.
I was intrigued. I decided to enter the first-reads giveaway and I won a copy. The Mayor's Daughter II: Stablemate is a continuation of Jessica's saga with a new a girl. It is an interesting book. Not for the faint of heart as one of the main themes is torture in role playing.
