For those who live and work at Edwina Downs, life is never dull....Things are not always as they seem, and life throws up new challenges... Everyone has a secret... Especially those looking for love...
A follow-up from Runaway Although that was more Robbie's story
Edwina Downs is more focused on his twin sister Maggie. But a story about running a station with sheep, cattle, and horses and the accidents and love stories that go with it.
Again this is written very much in the country Australia vernacular. This book is again a good enjoyable read. I felt that the characters lacked any real emotion. Robbie has been fortunate sice leaving his grandparent home at 15 in finding people who liked and cared for him in varying ways. As Robbie moved on with his life, he never looks back and lets these people know how he is getting on. He especially never lets his grandparent know that he is OK or that he finds his birth father (their son). For a person that has made so much of his life and to have been given so much, I feel this is a real flaw of his character. I also feel that all he has achieved in love and life is real fairy story stuff. For all this objective criticism I in no way wish to demean the effort that Wendy has put in to writing this story.I found the book a pleasant, easy read.
