Armour can make a hero of even the most modest soul. Armoured is the tale of a 13 year boy named Linus who finds his life forever altered when he wakes from an accident to discover he is now sharing his body with a swarm of tiny sentient robots known as the Xerxes System. Follow Linus and his best friend Ray Ray as they struggle to come to terms with super powers and the vicious politics of high school. All the while still battling the corrupt forces which are trying reclaim his new robotic companions. This witty, comic styled, coming of age adventure is set against the stunning backdrop of Australia's North Queensland coast. Armoured is sure to engage even the most reluctant of readers with its unsweetened, pull no punches attitude. "Great teenage sci-fi book. This book is very well written and is likely to appeal to teenagers and adults alike. The book takes the use of nano-robots to a new level in a clever manner similar to "Prey" written by Michael Crichton (author of Jurassic Park)." 5 stars!

I hate writing these things.

Okay, I am a fiercely proud Aussie. I love the country, I love the weather, I love the lifestyle. That's the main reason I use her as the setting for all of my stories. I may alter the time period or dimension but I always like to use her as the leading lady.

I originally got into writing as a teenager. It was a way of improving my horrendous spelling. To some extent it worked, but I still consider spelling my Achilles heel.

I write what I would like to read. If someone else likes it too that is a huge bonus. Most of the things I write are aimed at teens, predominately because I work with kids for a living.

I am influenced by just about any fantasy and sci fi stuff. I love to be amazed when I read. Action, adventure and anything which warps my concepts of the world and challenges my perceptions.

Anyway that should do, would love some friends on here to recommend some new books, so feel free to add me.

I loved this book and would have given it a 5 star rating had it not been for spelling errors. As an English major, those bothered me, but the plot was deep and moved at a quick pace to keep me wanting to read more. It got to the point that I didn't want to put the book down.

Armoured is about a boy who is accidentally injected with nano technology that basically makes him a superhero. But, he is a child and doesn't know what to do with his new capabilities. It follows his emotions and eventually leads to him having to make the choice of saving the town and his family, or running away.

I would recommend this book to everyone. It was a great read by an exceptional writer.

how would it feel to have superpowers ? Cool or scary ?? :D
Haha well let me quote peter Parker's uncle " with great power comes great responsibility" well it is the same in case of 13 year old Linus who had to fight inorder to save his life.
Well this book reminded me of the will smith movie irobot specially with the nanobots and stuff and it was good but personally I felt that the lead character should have been older so that this book could be enjoyed by the teens because 1) Linus is too young to control such a sophesticated system and well too innocent 2) I am not sure if children below 12 could understand the technical words and above 14 would prefer reading it as the Linus is too young
The book was creative and different from the usual ones I read and it was good but too immature for me .. and oh yeah I loved the ending so goodluck matt :)

I read this book back in 5th grade and still find it amazing! My teacher had shown the whole class this book and oddly enough his name was Mr.Edwards lol weird right? But regardless, I loved the book and thought it was extremely interesting. I saw some reviews saying the spelling was annoying but to be honest who cares about the spelling, because when you think about it it's not about spelling, it's about what you put on the paper! So I say in conclusion, keep up the good work Mr and I hope you reach your goals :)
