My son and I were blessed to be able to watch the author read this book aloud on YouTube. We loved the beautiful folk art illustrations depicting family traditions at Christmas, some that are specific to Newfoundland. For me, the story brought back memories of visiting my grandparents at Christmas and warming our mitts (and feet) by the woodstove. A memory that my son will never experience, but he can see and hear about in stories like this one. Thank you Dawn for keeping the memories alive for future generations.
