Early this year I read Kat’s Men of Bird’s Eye series and LOVED IT so when I saw she was starting another novella series I was here for it! This a short, fast-paced friends to lovers novella which is sweet, quirky (rehabbing a baby opossum), and even a spicy scene or two 😏 While I’m not the biggest fan of F2L, I just loved Ellie’s character and how much of a simp and amazingly sweet man Theo is to her 🥰 Can’t wait for the rest of this series!

Two best friends with this amount of chemistry something was bound to happen and boy oh boy did it happen.
I’m not saying you can have a best friend of the opposite gender but when your this close to each other what’s stopping you from taking that friendship to the next level. Well for these two it was just a matter of time and the whole town to tell them to make the move because from their eyes y’all might as well have already been together.
This book was just what I needed to get me out of my reading funk. Shot but not to short and easy to follow and very amazing 10/10 recommend to just about anyone

First, I have to say I am normally not a romance reader. I generally tend to gravitate towards horror, suspense and true crime. However, I can say that pretty much anything Kat Savage puts on a page, I love, and this is no exception.
Our main characters are Ellie and Theo, who have been best friends since they were kids. I won’t get into any spoilers but let’s just say they start to question their feelings for each other and we are taken along for the ride.
This book was funny, sweet, had a sexy, curvy, beautiful woman and a man who knows that thick girls are the best. The way Theo treats Ellie is swoon worthy and completely melted my icy black heart. Kat has a way with words and definitely has a knack for giving us book boyfriends that take our breath away.
I really, really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next installment of Cardinal Falls!

There is this feeling when you sit down to read a new book and are instantly connected to the character; it’s a feeling of excitement and empathy, love and understanding. Kat has given us that with Rumor Has It.
Ellie is the heroine of our story, she is curvy, she is fierce but as many of us have too, she has that sliver of self-doubt. Theo is our new best friend that is forever besties with Ellie. He’s so loving, loyal and protective. They love each other it’s clear, but what happens when the love they feel turns to more.
Rumors can burn faster than wildfires and this book burns so nicely! Having being friends forever, Theo & Ellie have always been there for each other, he can know something is wrong just by looking at her. So when a night out takes a slight turn and they end with an unexpected, but adorable new “pet” (wait until you find out about Wanda!) things start to change. Whispers start to happen and it has both of them thinking, what if!?
Rumor Has It is the rom-com you’ve been waiting for. It just so nice to read a book that made you feel so happy all the way through. I love me some angst but every now and then I just love a happy, sexy, fun read! And Kat gives us that and more!

Theo and Ellie's story is a short, sweet small town, best friends to lovers story. Theo is an amazing friend and has always treated Ellie like gold. Ellie has let her past relationships and interactions sour her self-image (sometimes).
With the help of Wanda, an abandoned baby opossum, magic happens. Mutual pining and flirting and banter. They are very sweet together. They're a little drama with an ex, but it's worth it.
Overall, it's a very cute story. I wish there was more to it. More time, interaction, backstory. I will definitely continue the series.

This was a quick but cute read. I liked Ellie and Theo. I really liked Wanda! She was so cute and brought them both together. So thank you, Wanda!

• So let's start off with saying. O.M. G. I loved this book. Litterally from the dedication. Yes, the Deduction to the Acknowledgments. There were some A plus, and i mean A plus one liners in the book that had me chuckling. The dialog the analogies. I had a smile on my face from start to finish! I absolutely loved, and I mean, loved this Friends to lovers, their chemistry, their trust, straight up their friendship! How Theo amd Ellie could read one another, again connection/chemistry I just....... sigh! I loved it! For me, this was a quick read I had this done in a day, and I did not want this book to end! I hope this is the start of a series. If not hint hint Kat. Lol . But again, I very much enjoyed this book, I look forward to more books from.this author!!

Thank you for the ARC, this book was so enjoyable that I will definitely be reading again. I love a good friends to lovers trope and this book was great. I enjoyed the relationship between Ellie and Theo. These characters definitely had a connection and their friendship was so enjoyable to read, their interactions were funny, especially when it come to Theo fixing Ellie's car and her getting Theo to do something he wasn't thrilled about doing. Ellie and Theo have always been friends, but one night changes this and both seem to be consumed by thoughts of the other and whether their friendship could develop into something more, The book is Cardinal Falls Book One

This is a super sweet friends to lovers with a healthy slice of spice!
It’s a quick read but despite that I still found I connected with the characters and was really cheering for them both.
I love the realism and sense of fun this author brings to her writing. There’s little to no angst, no unnecessary drama. Just good old fashioned romance!
I’m looking forward to meeting the next characters and getting back to Cardinal Falls.

Rumor Has It is a small town, friend to lovers, contemporary romance featuring Ellie Hayes and Theodore (Theo) Jameson. The two live in Cardinal Falls, KY and have been friends since the fourth grade. Everyone in town expects them to get together, and constantly ask however the two are adamant that they're just friends.
One evening, Ellie and Theo head out to a karaoke bar where Ellie hopes to attract the attention of her new colleague. Unfortunately this strong, fierce, fun, beauty gets shot down because of her size. Ouch! Theo dances with her and then takes her home. He is angry on her behalf and like a good friend, seeks to offer her comfort. Feeling low, Ellie asks him to stay over. Nothing happens... except Wanda makes an appearance. You'll have to read it to find out more.
This was a really fun and funny rom-com. We know there will be a HEA, but how they get there was very entertaining. I loved the writing and especially enjoyed having a plus size FMC.
Here are a few of my highlighted sections:
I'd complain about how long it takes women to get ready in comparison to men, but have you ever seen how hot they are? Partially because of the work they put in, but more so because they feel confident and happy. And a woman who feels confident about herself is a creature to be reckoned with.
Men don't mind a little softness. Boys, on the other hand, are bitches.
Her pants were so tight you could see her goddamn religion.
His points are valid. Too valid, honestly. It's like he took a paddle full of truth and spanked me with it. Well, that sounds oddly and unintentionally sexual.
Plus many more! You should definitely pick up a copy and check it out for yourself. I loved it so much I think I need to read it again.

I'm a sucker for a good best friends to lovers romance and this one was a great one !
It was an easy and short read, with no drama and plenty of adorable moments 🥹😍
It was sweet and cute, with just the perfect hint of spice !
I loved Ellie and Theo and of course was rooting for them, just like their friends who clearly saw them ending together !
They've been bffs forever and never even thought they could be a thing... but you know how that goes 😉
One night after a couple of drinks and an opossum rescue, Theo ends up sleeping at Ellie's house so they can take care of the little fur ball...
But even though nothing happened between them, rumors spread in their friend group and small town that the two finally gave in...
Making Ellie and Theo think about their love for each other, which might be more than friendship !
I loved how their relationship evolved, both characters were great and the storyline was the perfect pace for this novella 🥰
Theo is the best supportive friend a woman could have and is always here for Ellie, reminding her she's beautiful and worth it... especially when she has a hard time with men, who don't treat her the best because she's plus sized 😒

This was such a fun, quick read about childhood friends to lovers. Ellie and Theo have been friends since middle school, and even dated briefly then, but decided to be friends. Fast forward to now and they are starting to see each other in a different light. It starts with Ellie trying to get the attention of a fellow teacher at her school and being rejected for not being his physical type. Theo comforts her and tells her she’s beautiful despite what the idiot says.
Then, Theo ends up living with Ellie as they find a baby opossum and help take care of it together. The close proximity finally has them dealing with their feelings for each other. They do grapple with how moving forward will affect their friendship, but this wraps up beautifully.
I love the way Theo is with Ellie. He never judges her body, and I’m fact, loves the way she looks. He’s always there to take care of her as well.
There is an amazing friend /family group and I can’t wait to hear more of their stories as well.

Ellie, having had previous relationships was often judged because of her size, but she generally didn’t let that stop her from going after what she wanted. She may have still had her insecurities, but she was confident for the most part. Theo was and still is her rock. Her best friend. He always made it a point to tell Ellie and remind her that she is beautiful no matter what anyone else thinks.
All their other friends seemed to always have a feeling or know that they would eventually end up together. When the rumor mill began again, this put Ellie and Theo in their thoughts about whether or not they thought everyone else was crazy for thinking that..
News flash - they definitely were not crazy, lol. Definitely a fun light-hearted quick read that will make you smile.

Bless Your Soul, You’ve Got Your Head In the Clouds...
My heart has a special place for the Friends-to-Lovers Trope, and “Rumor Has It” is included. Theo and Ellie have been friends since childhood. Even kind of dating in the 6th grade, and we all know how serious middle school relationships are. Both have fallen into that comfortable daily pattern of almost feeling like an old married couple. The small town they live in has always thought their friendship was more, and then one day, it appeared that it was more. Small towns talk a lot, and rumors spread, whether true or not.
“Rumor Has It” is a quick read and will be Book 1 of the Cardinal Falls series. These two made me laugh, and Theo made me swoon. I loved how Theo treated Ellie and loved her “curvy girl” body. He knew just what to say to her. They were perfect together. What a fun read!

“Rumor Has It” is a quick read and will be Book 1 of the Cardinal Falls series. These two made me laugh, and Theo made me swoon. I loved how Theo treated Ellie and loved her “curvy girl” body. He knew just what to say to her. They were perfect together. What a fun read!

Theo and Ellie have been friends for over 10 years. They’ve never crossed any line even though all their friends think they have. They just have that tight bond. When Ellie has a crush on a coworker Theo ends up comforting her after the man is rude because of the size Ellie is. Feelings start to change as the two become invested in carrying for a baby opossum they discover.
This is a novella so it’s not very long, pretty quick change of feelings and one spicy scene. For the length the plot was fine. If you like small towns where everyone knows everything about each other and the group of friends is just waiting for the couple to finally admit their feelings this is the book for you. I did enjoy that the FMC is plus size and how the story portrayed that it’s not outside beauty that’s counts but what’s inside.

I love friends-to-lovers romances and add in a small-town vibe and you have a terrific story. Rumor Has It is a novella that sees two people that have been friends since they were kids, tired the dating thing and decided that friends just might be better. The only thing is that they tried it when they were kids and they are both attracted to one another.
Ellie and Theo are the best of friends and they have a great circle of friends that see there is more to their relationship than being just friends. It is not until an opossum has them realizing that just maybe there is more there than just friends. Ellie is a curvy woman that has had a crappy time finding the right man but that does not stop her is living her life. Theo had only ever seen her as the beautiful and strong woman that she is. Spending time caring for Wanda, the opossum, has them crossing the lines of that friendship that they have and boy when they do the sparks fly.
I recommend adding Rumor Has It to your TBR list.

Rumor Has It is an absolute gem of a novella! I couldn't agree more with the sentiment that this book was a great one! From start to finish, it had me completely hooked with its easy and short read that delivered an abundance of adorable moments. 😍
Ellie and Theo, the protagonists, were utterly lovable, and I found myself rooting for them right from the beginning. As best friends, they never even considered the possibility of becoming more than that, but fate had other plans for them. After a night of drinks and an unexpected opossum rescue, Theo ends up spending the night at Ellie's place, and this innocent incident sets off a flurry of rumors within their friend group and small town.
I adored how the story unfolded, with just the perfect hint of spice and plenty of sweet and cute moments between Ellie and Theo. Their friends, who clearly saw the sparks flying between them, only added to the charm of the tale.

Kat Savage is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have enjoyed. When I heard she had a new series releasing I jumped at the opportunity to read Rumor Has It, particularly since it is based in small town Cardinal Falls, Kentucky. I enjoy friends to lovers’ stories and I quickly became invested in Theo Jameson and Ellie Haye’s story.
Having known one another for a long time it seems that everyone believes that they have been dating in secret and yet they haven’t. The connection between them is strong and all it takes f for one night to change their relationship.
This was an entertaining, well written story romcom that drew me in and held my interest from the first chapter. The characters were easy to relate to and it was enjoyable to watch their journey unfold as they moved from friends to lovers.

If you love small town, friends to lovers romance this book should certainly be on your radar. I haven’t read a lot by Kat Savage but everything I have read I have loved so I was excited to hear she had a new series coming out. Rumor Has It is Book one in the new Cardinal Falls Series and it’s Theo Jameson and Ellie Haye’s journey.
Theo and Ellie have been friends for years and everyone in town believes they are dating in secret. That couldn’t be further from the truth until one night has them doing a 360 degree turn with their relationship.
Rumor Has It is a fun, entertaining romantic comedy with characters you can’t help falling for. The banter is witty, the chemistry is sizzling, the story is captivating but more importantly I was left smiling which is exactly what a rom com should do. Can’t wait for my next visit to the small town of Cardinal Falls.

This book was a super sweet quick read that was very enjoyable. Theo and Ellie have been inseparable since fourth grade but have never thought they had anything more than friendship. Ellie has struggled with her self esteem and being judged for her size and when one day a man she likes puts her down and hurts her, Theo is there for her. He sees her as beautiful and has no problems telling her so. When Ellie finds a baby opossum he stays with her to help feed it and this is when feelings start to come to light. Theo is so sweet and protective of her while she is fierce and protective of him Once they step over the line everything just falls into place and they become each other's home. If you love small town romances and friends to lovers you will love this book. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Theo and Ellie have been best friends since childhood, but they have never crossed the line into anything else, well maybe once in sixth grade and maybe Ellie did have a little crush back then as well, but nothing ever came of it, but that is all about to change with a little help from a baby opossum, and another let down in Ellie's love laugh because of her curves.
So settle back and fall in love with Cardinal Falls and its people and turn the last page with a smile on your face when Theo and Ellie get their HEA.

This is the first book in this new small town romance series and I am here for it! I loved this book a lot. A good friends to lovers book will get me every time. I just love the history and connection the characters have already formed. I love watching that connection blossom into something beautiful with romantic love. That was what it felt like watching Theo and Ellie. They have been friends really best friends for a long time. They know the ins and outs about each other. It just takes that one moment to show us what has been right in front of us the whole time. I really loved the small town setting. I can already tell you I'm crazy for this group of friends. They are squad goals for sure. I liked some little teases we have gotten for potential books for this series. It was a fast read for me, but boy was it an enjoyable one!

I received an ARC copy of Kat Savage's book and I loved it. This was my first Kat Savage book too. It's a small- town, best friends to lovers rom-com. Iwas hooked right away. This book was light and fluffy and it reminded me of cotton candy and the fair. Savage had me laughing with the one liners, such as, "Wanna know my secret? I just want my titties to be free. All the time. Forever."-Ellie. I loved that the FMC looked like me with all her curves. I loved that she wrote men who are attracted by those curves and don't want to keep it a secret. The MMC had a tender heart attached to maturity. It was refreshing to read about a man who looks deeper into another person. I look forward to reading more about the characters of Cardinal Falls and where Kat Savage will take them.

Everything changed when they found a baby opossum (yup, you heard me correctly 🙈). Why, you might ask? Well, because Theo needs to live with her to take care of the baby opossum, and being near to each other made them realise that maybe, it’s deeper than friendship. Especially when all the town thinks that they’re already dating 👀

I'm pretty sure I have a cavity after reading this book. It was THAT sweet. Just so sugary sweet and fluffy and such a nice break from some of the heavier and darker stuff that has been on my kindle. It was the kind of story that feels like a soft blanket on a warm day - you just want to burrow your way inside of it and stay there.
This book was a quick read, but there was a lot of story packed into those pages. Best friends who finally open their eyes and realize they were meant for each other. Not an ounce of tension other than a "omg hurry up and love each other!". No third act break-up. Curvy fmc. It was everything I needed and felt like a total breath of fresh air! Perfect afternoon read!

There are people that say that a guy and girl can’t be friends. You look at Theo and Ellie and their friendship goes deep and they truly have been platonic after their one week try to date. What happens when one particular moment has you questioning how you feel? Their friends are all talking about those looks between them and maybe there is some merit to what they are saying. Theo is a real standup guy and any girl would be lucky to have his attention. Ellie is curvy woman with some insecurities of her body but has a heart of gold. They have always been solid but now their feelings are different and I am here for it! Watching them on this new journey is warming and exciting! I enjoyed this read and excited to see how the others in the friend group will find their HEA!

WOW! This story was so damn cute, adorable and super sweet. I feel like my cheeks are in pain from smiling so much.
These two best friends have such an amazing connection, and some very intense, sexual chemistry that they haven’t delved too deep into until now. They have both been protecting their amazing friendship, not wanting to ruin anything that could damage it.
But you just knew that they needed to breach that barrier and give into their desires and take their relationship to the next level. And once they did, there’s no turning back for either of them. They were absolutely going to be perfect together forever.
The story was just so perfect. It was fast paced, super cute, super sweet, funny and definitely spicy. Loved it.
