Hammerhead

Rate this book
Hammerhead is the charming tale of a serial killer recounting his crimes. Though his methods may be vicious and gruesome, his motives aren't all that far-removed from the thoughts that go through each of our minds.

This is a great short story! Martin is a pretty interesting character to say the least! As he very casually tells us his killing history, you kind of can’t help but like him, whether you agree with his choices or not. He just makes it seem so normal to literally take a hammer to someone’s head because they have in some way personally offended you! I found myself laughing out loud at his comments about how horrible these people (those unlucky enough to make it onto his ‘List’!) were and how much he hated them, so he HAD to kill them, duh!?! It was his job. Not getting at all that his reaction and follow through might be a little extreme!
Another wonderfully written, super entertaining short story!

This story is not outright scary or gory, but Martin's matter-of-fact attitude towards murder makes it a creepy tale. I would love to see a follow-up to this story, if only to find out what happened to Martin. I also appreciated the quick-paced story that managed to tell so much in just 62 pages. This is the second of Todd Brabander's novellas that I've read and I enjoyed this one much more than the first.

I found this book very entertaining. I liked how Martin didn't kill just for the hell of it. He had his reasons, helping the victims by killing their abusers. As another reviewer noted, it's like American Psycho. If you liked the movie and/or book, you should like this novella.

I cannot remember any time where I finished a book in one sitting. This book is kind of a, American Psycho meets Dexter. This was really fun book to read that I was unable to put down at all and finished in one night.

Got this as a free book for my Nook. I have never read anything by this author and was suprised at how good this turned out. He was a great storyteller and I will be looking for more books by him to see if they are as good as this one!
