Feeling more like a beast than a man, Leo rarely strays from his home on the mountain. Then one day a bewildering letter forces him out of his reclusive life, and he meets Freya, a curvy redhead, who should be off-limits but his mind and body don’t care. One feverish indulgence leaves him tortured for months. He wants more of Freya. Far more. But there's no point in wishing for what he can't have. That is, until she shows up at his door with a little something she needs to tell him...
Hey lovely, He’s at home in the wild. She’s his deepest obsession. If you love burly alphas, curvy heroines, and characters who take care of each other, this steamy, all-the-feels romance is for you. Happily ever after guaranteed. xo, Kate
This was the Twinkie of books. I wanted brain candy and I got it. A very short story about a burly mountain man and his dead best friend’s curvy daughter. It’s feel good and light fare, nothing substantial here. Very short and insta-lusty but it works if you just want to turn your brain off for an hour.
I would have liked this to be longer and for the author to actually write their time together rather throwing in time jumps, because we had a lot of tell but no show. This author should buckle down and write a full length book one day. Come on Kate, I dare you!
"Extra Wild" was like a quick indulgence, akin to munching on a guilty pleasure snack. You've got Leo, this brooding mountain man, who gets pulled out of his solitary existence by a letter and suddenly finds himself tangled up with Freya, his deceased best friend's daughter. It's a classic case of instant attraction and the narrative doesn't shy away from diving straight into the lusty bits. Sure, it's short and sweet, perfect for those moments when you just want to switch off your brain and enjoy a steamy escape.
My only gripe? I wished for more depth. The story skimmed over their time together, opting for time jumps instead of really delving into their connection. Leo's passivity in pursuing what he wants was a bit frustrating too. I mean, if Freya hadn't shown up at his door, would he have just moped around forever? Despite that, the epilogue did offer a satisfying glimpse into their future. Maybe one day Kate Hunt will expand this into a full-length novel – now that's something I'd eagerly devour!
pretty cute and unique novella. a great palette cleanser in between reading 450+ pages of slowburn romances so this novella was greatly appreciated.
i wish the Hero was more proactive in knowing what he wants and chasing after it because after the first encounter with the heroine, he just let her walk away even though he didn't want her to. months later, she came to his house looking for him and that was when he was like "you no leave, you stay here forever, you mine," type of thing. i guess if the heroine didn't come looking for him, he would've lived his whole life alone while still pining for the heroine. the epilogue was quite cute though!
I enjoyed reading this story. Both of them were dealing with the pain of losing family members. It was the reason they met, but not the reason they got together. I enjoyed his quiet honesty, and Wild man way of life. Together, they were something special, and they both knew it. Loved their epilogue.
I really enjoyed this short romantic story. It was filled with longing for someone but letting nature take its course. It keeps you reading and not getting bored. Nothing like a HEA!
