Amertec Electronics company jet carrying the Senior VP and soon to be CEO mysteriously crashes shortly after taking off from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. It was a cold, rainy day with low visibility.

He also worked briefly for the Washington Business Journal as a journalist and has been a contributing writer/editor for several aviation magazines.
Dan and his wife live in Owings, Maryland, about twenty miles south of Annapolis and when he's not writing, they spend their summers sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.

This was a pleasant surprise. I read Guidance to Death based solely on the cover so I didn't know what to expect. I assumed Guidance to Death would focus on planes, and you know what they say about people who assume. I wasn't expecting a complex, multi-layered thriller with great characters. I would have liked more backstory about the protagonist, Frank Adams. The author, Daniel V. Meier, Jr., has Adams responding to certain situations like he's had training in the past but keeps it vague. Adams is presented as an unassuming retired NTSB investigator who occasionally turns into Chuck Norris. A little weird but entertaining nonetheless.
