Lady Carolyne Dryden is a brilliant and gifted young woman operating a policy auction house in London for her father. Late one evening she is brutally beaten, robbed and left to die.
A few days later two bodies are found in the same house the assault took place. Others follow and a sewer of corruption contained beneath the razzamatazz of a General Election leads to shattering revelations and murderous passions; causing her well-organised world to turn into an arena of pursuit and terror, and where the only certainty is that nothing is certain.
Bursting with penetrating insight into the seedy, sleazy world of political funding, Foxy Lady breathlessly leads the reader into the dark and sordid twilight world which lurks beneath the glamorous surface of the upper echelons of society. Revealing the true depths of the corruption which taints the lives of those who stride the corridors of power.
Very clever writing from Mr Daniels. The characters are immediately entered into your mind and you don't find yourself thinking 'now who is he/she again?'. The plot is ingenious and involves life insurance fraud, done through an auction house. Of course, once the life assured dies, then the holder of the policy gets the cash. Easy to follow, but complicated in its execution. One of those stories where you finish and understand everything but think to yourself, that was clever. A page turner and nice writing style. Five stars just isn't enough.
A dogged, determined police officer, determined to uncover the truth behind the events which lead to the deaths of two men. A beautiful, sophisticated woman, equally determined protect her own suspect secrets. The revelation of the subtle and near all-pervading corruption tainting the very highest echelons of power.
With a sly, sardonic wit, memorable characters, and a topicality which is timeless; author Rags Daniels guides us with assured insight and brio through a dangerous and deadly world where morality is just a meaningless mask hiding the ugly face of casual sex - and even more casual evil.
Foxy Lady is an exciting adventure which will keep you turning its pages. Recommenced.
Rape leads to revenge; greed leads to murder; all is not as it seems in the corridors of power; and one detective longing for retirement is searching for the answers.
Political intrigue, police, murder, sex, revenge and corruption. This is a well written, gripping, fast paced read.
Lady Carolyne Dryden is one cool customer! Can DI Reide solve two murders? There are plenty of twists and turns in this book to keep you wanting to know what happens next. I didn't want to put it down. Loved it! Well worth a read...
I highly recommend this novel, consisting of sex (tastefully written), corruption and revenge.
My favorite character is Lady Carolyne Dryden. She is intriguing and the story took many unexpected turns.
The only reason I'm awarding this novel with four stars instead of five is because as an American, I had to continually search the dictionary for definitions of many words. Mr. Daniels is a British author and many of those words I looked up weren't even in my Kindle Fire dictionary. Guess I should have bought my Kindle Fire in England. Maybe those sold there have more British words that were used in this book. I read so many books by British authors and love them. PLEASE don't let this stop you from grabbing a copy of this thrilling novel.

Optima corrupta pessima. 'The best things corrupted become the worst.'
Political thriller. Murder to fill political coffers.
A political party uses arms sales, murder, and coercion to finance its elections in England of the 1980s and 1990s. The characters created are vivid but the idioms of UK English were difficult to follow.
I found the subject matter of corrupt politicians and elections distasteful. The idea the common citizen can be so hoodwinked for a few to have so much power, money and control.is disturbing but I fear true.
"Foxy Lady" by Rags Daniels is a fast paced and intelligently woven thriller about financial and political corruption, murder, rape, fraud and lots of scheming. It is written with humour, wit and great characters that bring the complex plot to its unexpected finale. Daniels takes us back to the Britain of Thatcher and the issues of the 1980s and 1990s. A great re-visit of the times with a twisted plot, historical insights and an involved and clever murder mystery.
