I got this because I was interested in what shamanism is and how it is used. It has a really interesting and baaad gal (vs. baaad guy) antagonist. I like Hawaii and I wanted the story to be set in Hawaii but its mostly set in Europe. I got about half way and I was like, Europe is so lame so I quit reading it for 2 years (I've never been there so I can't make a good judgement). Then I came back to finish it and the way he describes European places made me realize it would be cool to visit there. For example, they built their churches on spots with good energy that have been that way since ancient days. If you're into shamanism and intuitive abilities, you'll like this adventure story. The ending couldn't have been better because it tied together some details that were peppered through the book. They created questions that were answered in the best way.
