I read this book for work!

Great overview of the many facets of being a Volunteer Administrator. It sparked many ideas, and is a good jumping off point for seeing where you need to dive deeper.

I actually will be reading the second edition, but when I scanned the bar code/ISBN, Goodreads beeped at me.
5/2014--I completed the second edition, which has about 100 more pages of updated and additional material from the first. A lot of the information in the book is what we all learn as we act as Volunteer Administrators professionally or as experienced volunteers, but each chapter has nuggets of insight and helpful information that has already begun to inform my work. I absolutely recommend those working with volunteers, especially professionally, to read and discuss this book.
Now, intensive review and studying of the tome before the certification test on May 28th!!

This book would benefit from serious editing. Because the chapters were each written by a different expert, some of the information was contradictory.
