With this begins the odyssey of wannabe writer Chip Riggs, who has his world and destiny changed by the spirits of Henry Miller and Anais he has been chosen, they tell him, to be the next great writer, to continue the tradition of Henry, Anais and the other greats. He wants to believe them and fulfill his destiny, but his efforts push him into a series of bad decisions and send his life off the rails. While he finds himself developing as a writer, he begins to wonder if he is regressing as a person. His life starts to change-- and not for the better.
