This is “Rory’s Mate” Book 2 of The Vampire Coalition. If you haven’t read “Ethan’s Mate” Book 1, I would highly recommend reading it first. Although these are complete stories you will miss much of the previous information on the nature of my vampires if they aren’t read in order and you may get lost. There is also a short prelude “The Rough Mating Of A Vampire” that is an erotic short about Adare and Kristin. It’s an optional story.

This was a good book and right now I am loving the Hale vamps hot sexy and rich. Callie met Rory at her best friends wedding Brianna married Rory's brother Ethan. Callie grew up believing that no one wanted her she was abandoned as a child and she is self-conscious about her weight. Rory who has a twin brother has always lived in Liam's shadow because he is a healer the special one he grew up feeling average he is a 400 year old vampire who never thought he would find his mate like the rest of his brother's. Callie and Rory became friends at the wedding he didn't realize that that Callie was his mate until he touched her although he had feelings for her before she was thinking he was attracted to her sexually he had a problem he could know longer be sexual with anyone but his mate, but once he touched her it was all systems go for him and after a sexual encounter Callie ran. Callie was so confused and when she started hearing Rory in her mind she was really confused, but Rory didn't give up or force her he told her about his life after Brianna told him something about Callie's life and when she was in need he was their. I am enjoying this series very much, and this story is no exception. I liked Rory he seems the most emotionally available of his brothers, yes he is the sexy dominant vampire, but he does it with just a touch of vulnerability that made me love him I gave this story 4 stars because I wished it was longer. I can't wait to read the next book.

MY FAVOURITE SO FAR


Callie is the BF of Brianna the heroine from the first book in this series Ethan's Mate The Vampire coalition series.
Due to her friendship with Brianna, Callie is acquainted with the Hale brothers. But she is attracted to Rory, he's not just tall and gorgeous, he's sweet and kind as well. Of course she doesn't know that all the Hale brothers are vampires. Callie is a chef and the brothers being massive food lovers she loves cooking for them. Callie realises that even though she's attracted to Rory, he only sees her as a friend. That is until she burns her hand preparing food at a BBQ. When Rory takes her hand to see how badly she has hurt herself, is when he realises that Callie is his mate. With every possessive and dominant instinct coming to life within him, he frightens poor Callie who has no idea what is happening.

I am enjoying this series very much, and this story is no exception. I liked Rory he seems the most emotionally available of his brothers, yes he is the sexy dominant vampire, but he does it with just a touch of vulnerability.
Hot and sexy, a great read.

I am really like The Vampire Coalition series. Rory's Mate is a very romantic an erotic story with a little bit a danger thrown in to give us our adrenaline rush. Callie is Rory's soul mate. She is just a beautifully written heroine for the story. Callie has a lot of confidence issues which just adds to the story line. She was left in a Park, when she was a baby and never adopted just sent from one foster home to the next. She is insecure and doesn't believe that a Hot Sexy Gorgeous man/vampire could be interested in her. I Highly Recommend Rory's Mate!! Now I am off to read Nathans Mate.

If I were to characterize Rory, I would say he was the middle brother. With all the insecurities and uncertainties that comes with it. I love how he finds his mate and literally has to convince her he is serious. She has her own insecurities and low self-esteem to work through. Wonderful story, glad there are more.

Rory is my favorite Hale brother (so far)! He just seems more...vulnerable...than the rest of them. I feel like the others would be okay never mating, but Rory....he needs it more than the others I think.

I also think that Callie is the perfect mate for Rory. They both need each other in the same way and it was just....super sweet and romantic (for me and yes, despite the volatility of the whole process).

I also enjoy seeing the brothers interact with each other. It's obvious they love each other tremendously, but get a lot of enjoyment out of teasing each other. It's also nice to see the brother's bond with each other's mate's as well. They are all just such a beautiful, loving, and supportive family.

We get to see more of Nathan in this book. I think he's very lonely and hides behind his gruff manner. I'm glad that he's in the next book. He really deserves to find his mate after such a long time.

Anyways, enough babbling (sorry!). I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Liked this one a lot more than Ethan & Brianna. Rory & Callie were much more relatable. There was a lot more character development in this story, but it still doesn't nearly live up to its potential. The entire time I was reading, I kept thinking of all the ways this story could have developed into an amazing full length novel. I loved the characters, but the story felt so incomplete.

As another review stated, it is essentially the same story as the first with only slight variations and better character development. It made me glad I opted to buy the stand alone instead of the boxed set. I doubt I'll continue reading the series. I'll probably just read this one again sometime for a fun quickie. Solid 3 stars. Just wish there'd been more depth.

Both Rory and Callie think there is nothing special about themselves. They are both attracted to each other but too shy to say anything. He finally discovers his mark on her one night. She is taken aback and doesn't know how to act after his mating instinct kicks in. He takes her on the kitchen table at Brianna's house. She freaks out runs out of the house. Rory continues to call to her in her mind each day. Sometimes she answers sometimes she doesn't. Brianna tries to help her by explaining everything to her about the Hale brothers. Callie finally gives in and calls to Rory. He tells her he was drawn to her even before he knew they were mates.

4.5 stars. This second book in the set was almost as good as the first. You see deeper into the relationship between the brothers and learn more about this vampire world. I especially enjoyed the part (and literally laughed out loud) when Liam explains to Rory that it is the female who determines when they can have sex, and what happens if he tries before she calls to him. The only thing that I didn't like about the book was the heroine's denial of what Rory is. Yes, that would be a difficult thing to accept, and if someone told me that, I would call them crazy and run like hell if he became aggressive. HOWEVER, she has proof that it's true with the mating mark, telepathy, and her life long BFF confirming it. It's not just having to take his word for it. The denial thing always bothers me in paranormal romances. But the great thing about this story is that it's too short for her to stay in denial for long. A brief annoyance, and bam, back to a good story line. For more details about the vampire world in this series of short stories, see my review of the first book. That way, I don't have to be repetitive. Still looking forward to the next one. :)

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Callie Marks is best friends with Brianna Cole who is about to marrying Ethan Hale. Rory Hale one of Ethan's brother sits at her table and brings a slice of cake for her and one for himself, but she doesn't want it until he feeds it to her. One day Callie went to a barbecue at Brianna & Ethan's home and while she was preparing a salade Rory showed up. Callie burned her finger so she put her finger on running water, but when Rory went to check on her he grabed her hand and immediately knew that Callie was his mate. Rory couldn't help himself and starte kissing Callie, but Callie couldn't believe what they just did that she left running from the house. Rory spent his waking moments speaking to her with his mined about his life and telling her that she was his mate, but Rory couldn't go to Callie until she called to him while she slept. Callie was really struggling until she spoke with Brianna and decided that she didn't want to be away from him anymore.

Overall: Callie and Rory meet and Brianna & Ethan's wedding and kind of hit it off right away. Since that day they've run into each other a few times and Callie has it in her mind that he doesn't like her because of the way she looks. At a party they accidentally touch and instantly Rory's mating instincts kick in and they get to second base of Brianna's table. Callie pushes Rory away because she is confused, but eventually they work everything out and they get their HEA.

Pros: I loved Rory's attitude towards Callie and the friendship connection they had at first. It seemed this time around the author added a little more information into the story. I enjoyed Callie and Rory's mating "wedding" the best.

Cons: I wish there was more of a story than just sex and mating. This series has such great potential to be more.

This was a little better but come on, can we get an actual relationship out of these? We get what the end result is going to be just from the first one so why rush is to it? Can we get to know the characters besides their needs to have at each other. The little bit of danger is over so fast that it's nonexistent and makes no difference on the story. I'd like to see someone have an actual relationship before the whole mate thing taking place. If this wasn't a free read I'd return it for some money back.

This one actually had a little bit more of a romance to it than Ethan's Mate.. This book was similar to the first one, Ethan's mate, except it felt less urgent since Callie was not ill and dying like Brianna was. Like the first one the conflict with the Fallen was resolved way too quickly; Both Rory and Callie think there is nothing special about themselves. They are both attracted to each other but too shy to say anything. He finally discovers his mark on her one night.

I love short stories but,....

I love short paranormal stories but, I was waiting for more action. I don’t know why.... but I think it would be perfect and have 5 stars in my part. But for the rest of the story, was very good and the way the author describe every part was very good.
