Azure, the fifth book of the Silver Series, is about an alpha werewolf who rescues a human from the vengeful grasp of his pack. Nora is the only person who is not afraid of Vance’s size or strength, and in return she gains his respect. When Vance is pushed to the edge of survival, his heart is torn between loving Nora and a werewolf who befriends him with the kindness that is greatly lacking in his life.
Azure is a story of strength beyond the endurance of the body. In a world turned upside down by violence, the choice between what the heart wants and the safest solution can be the most important decision of all.
Cheree Alsop is an award-winning, best-selling author and the mother of a beautiful, talented daughter and amazing twin sons who fill every day with joy and laughter. She is married to her best friend, Michael, the light of her life and her soulmate who shares her dreams and inspires her by reading the first drafts of each book. Cheree is a fulltime author and mother, which is much more fun than work! She enjoys reading, riding her motorcycle on warm nights, and playing with her twins while planning her next book. She is also a bass player for their rock band, Alien Landslide.
Cheree and Michael live in Utah where they rock out, enjoy the outdoors, plan great adventures, and never stop dreaming.
This one was a bit different, equally as good as the books in this series up to this point, (I suspected the books to come will be just as good). I love this series so far and all of the different characters in it. Each book brings new problems to solve and new werewolves to save. It's great how the Author brings in the new characters. Different characters in each book that way we get to know them all slowly, not have a bunch of characters thrown at us in the beginning, as we struggle to get to know them all, perfect way for us readers to really get to know the characters, their back grounds and personalities. Another five star rating from me for this series. Love it.
Azure is the fifth book in the Silver series, and we start off with a pack that isn't Jaze Carso's! Instead, Vance is the Alpha of Two, a hideaway retreat that rich parents can send their alpha sons to, supposedly to protect them. From the way we read about Vance, that protection comes at a cost. Things are going okay for Vance until they are ambushed and he has to protect his Pack. Then, he falls for Nora, one of the Hunters who attacked them. No good can come from this, surely?!
Although this book didn't tick as many boxes for me as the others (and I have absolutely NO idea why!!!) I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. I think, for me, it was the love triangle between Nora-Vance-Gem. I'm really not a big fan of them so that may be why. However, I will say, in this situation, it is oh-so believable! No matter how much you love someone, going through what Vance and Gem did, gives you a bond that may be confused with love. I thought it was really well written and perfect for the story.
This is such a fantastic series and I really am loving every book. Yes, even this one! 😊 Cheree Alsop writes in such a spectacular way as to show the emotions of what her characters are going through. The limelight is also shared among the characters. Absolutely amazing and highly recommended by me.

2 & 1/2 stars very generously rounded up. So far this is my least favorite of the series, enough so, even though I have the box set of the complete series, I’m going to take a break from it & maybe come back & finish the last 2 books at some other time. If I hadn’t been bored at work, I wouldn’t have finished this book, I’d have quit the story as a DNF.
I absolutely hated the “triangle” in this book. It didn’t feel good or right or even of love. Of the 3 in the triangle, Vance, Nora & Gem, I sorta maybe liked Nora the most, not enough to read more about her though or even to say I thought she was a great character. I felt none of the 3 were good enough for a main character! I did not like the other 2, at all! Vance came across as wishy-washy, self absorbed & not really an alpha’s personality or smarts. Gem came across as an immature tween & too clingy. The whole plot is so bizarrely twisted & unbelievable, that it’s almost painful to read. The only reason for rounding this up to 3 stars, is more of Jaze, Jett, & Kaynan in the story. I think there were too many things that made no sense or just didn’t add up, or the exaggerated fight scenes that seem way too comic book -over blown to sound real. For example, as many bad guys swarmed into the basement at the end that they kept taking down, they’d have been standing on top of the fallen bad guys to keep on fighting...I also hated that they never sensed Nora was a wolf, the other wolves always could tell who was human & who was wolf by smell. But she just miraculously turns wolf at the end, all thru the first 4 books, they said kids phased at 7 years old unless weird circumstances trigger it sooner. So I don’t buy that suddenly Nora can just phase at 17 or 18 years old, so Vance gets his wolf female since he was worrying about being in love with a human as his forever mate! Um, these last 2 books (4 & 5) are not reflecting good on the series as a whole. Book 6 would have to be outstanding for me to even consider book 7 at this point.
Recurring theme thru the series (so far), horrible editing/proof-reading. I tried to look past that with the review, others might not be so generous.
Jaze's pack continues to grow in this fifth installment in the Silver Series. Vance has lived a sheltered and hidden life with other young male werewolves whose parents feared for their lives. When hunters attack the camp, he finds himself the only thing standing between a young hunter and her certain death at the hands of the other werewolves. Despite the threat Nora poses to the entire pack, Vance sees something in her worth saving.
Azure is the story of enemies who become something so much more as they come to know and understand each other. It's a story of moving past blind prejudice and finding the light of truth. Vance and Nora's budding relationship is heartwarming and touching to follow. And painful as well, when circumstances drag them apart and Vance ends up in terrible danger. The feelings he develops for another werewolf who helps him through his ordeal are very true to the sort of thing which happens when two people suffer through a traumatic event together. The following love triangle is believable and well done. It's hard to decide who you hope Vance ends up with, the strong willed and fierce Nora, or the bubbly and resilient Gem.
This is an intense book with strong themes sure to haunt you long after you've read the final page and is by far the best in the series. Azure pulls no punches when it comes to harsh topics such as hatred, torture, and murder. It's not for the faint of heart. But the overall message of love's healing power is an uplifting experience that will leave you breathless.
Azure by Cheree Alsop is book 5 in the Silver series. This book focuses on Vance and Nora. Once again, the werewolf/Hunter dichotomy is brought to play. Vance is an alpha werewolf stashed away in a ‘werewolf retreat’ by his parents and trying to maintain a precarious balance among four alphas and a dozen grays. Nora and a group of young, inexperienced Hunters raid their hideout and are slaughtered by the wolves. Except Nora.
Vance can’t seem to kill her, even though that’s probably the practical way to go. Instead, he’s drawn to this brash and stubborn young Hunter who’s done everything in her power to rise his ire. She, in turn, watches him care for the other wolves and use his special traking skills to find a bunch of lost hikers. She can’t help it, and she falls for him. But her father is an Extremist Hunter, and to him, the only good werewolf is a dead one.
Caught by Nora’s father, Vance is lost in Lobotraz. Werewolf hell. His time in Lobotraz becomes a defining moment for Vance. She will do anything to rescue him. He will do anything to rescue the other wolves. Jaze steps in and everything goes to chaos. I won’t tell you more and spoil the plot, but it gets pretty intense.
Hmmmmm...........this one is a toss-up with the others in series. Why you ask? Well.....I like Nora she was very strong-willed and self-confident and was able to take of herself no matter what she fought till the end. Gem I don't know I didn't really like her that much. I'm not sure why, it was just her I guess. Vance I was on the fence about there were times I liked him and others I didn't. Does any of that make sense? Some of my problems with Vance was he just assumed because of his size he was the almighty alpha when it was done. But he also had a vulnerable side to him. I think the reason he was so torn between Nora and Gem was cause he was IN love with More and loved Gem but only as a sister. And seen how he had basically been secluded from everyone he confused the two. In the end I think he confused not only himself but Gem as well cause she started to view him as a boyfriend and he encouraged it more than he realized. Overall like I said in the beginning I'm on the fence about this book. I'm left with more questions than answers in the end. Like how is it possible Nora is all of a sudden a wolf and what did her father in the end. Hopefully some of them will be answered in the next book.
I really enjoyed this book because it was so different. Vance has a complex relationship with the wolves he lives with and everything shifts once he meets and stands up for Nora. I instantly enjoyed watching the interaction between Vance and Nora. They don't always agree/ get along and sparks fly. I found them so real. I could see myself doing and saying some of the same things Nora did. I also liked Gem right away. She is sweet and full of hope. I think Vance needed that. I was surprised at some of the turns of events I honestly was not expecting. I really like the smore scene! Azure is a thrilling read that got my heart pumping and had me rooting for Vance and the others. It is hard when people you care about betray you so watch your back! I loved reading this adventure and meeting new werewolves. I will say the last fighting scene was a bit over the top for me. But other than that this is an amazing read. I will tell you I was surprised at what was revealed in the end. I just did not see that happening! I saw some very cool surprises along the way! I hope you all enjoy this read as much as I did!
If you want to read a truly original werewolf series, this one is for you. Azure is the fifth book in the series, and swept me away. The author's imagery is amazing, and her characters are people I feel I could meet in real life (if they weren't werewolves). I would highly recommend this book and series to anyone looking for a good urban read.
A burly and large werewolf, Vance protects those he cares most about. When Hunters ambush his pack, he defends his territory, but at the cost of losing some of his friends. Nora, a hunter, is left alive after Vance realizes she too lost friends that night. He befriends her, protects her from the other vengeful werewolves, and understands they have more in common than at first glance.
The emotions in this novel had me gripping the pages in anticipation. Vance's rage surged through me because I had felt those raw emotions before. Especially when it comes to losing their temper and control, Cheree knocked this one out of the park.
There was a lot more action in this one. I sobbed a couple of times. Once, when Vance starved, I knew how much that hurt and when he was being abused.
As a survivor of childhood abuse, it's hard not to cringe at these scenes because my body remembers the pain and agony. But I feel seen when she addresses these issues. The last time I felt tuned into a character like this was with Jet in her novel Black which also touched on childhood abuse and how wrong it is.
I think her desert descriptions need a bit more work, but it is an improvement from the last book. Cheree's senses of touch, smell, and taste are picturesque. And like always, she had a twist at the end, which made me gasp. A few typos and grammatical errors weren't enough to stop me from reading. She has a way of hooking the reader and making us care about the characters. A must-read.
Another great story by Cheree Alsop. Again it made me run through all my emotions just reading it. Vance is the newest werewolf in trouble. He leads a group of weres sent to live in the desert to protect them from hunters. When they get attacked by hunters, they all fight bravely but there is a little thing they didn't do, Kill all the hunters. Nora is a hunter in training that accidently stumbled across Two, the werewolf safe place. Vance feel the need to save her when everyone is telling him to kill her. After he saves her life a few times, he lets her contact his father, an extremist hunter. When he is trapped and taken to a holding facility he see for himself the pain and torture these poor animal face. I could go on and on about the book but I hate spoilers. It was action packed and even a little love story in there. I am SOOO thrilled that Jaze and Jet and the gang are all back in this book. It's like a family reunion seeing them all.
From start to finish, this entire series has been captivating, enthralling, and exciting! I highly recommend this series for both young adults and the young at heart...and especially for those who love werewolves!
Cheree Alsop is an amazing author and I literally started at book one and couldn't stop until the last book in the series. I won't tell you the ending, but I will say that Jaze, her family, and his friends captured my heart.
In fact, I was so busy reading that I had to wait until the end to write this review!
As a lover of most of Cheree Alsop's books, I was a little shocked at myself when I really didn't LURVE this one. I liked it, don't get me wrong. But I didn't LURVE it. It was "different"? I can't explain it, sorry, but it just wasn't the book for me. If I have to try to pin it down, I guess it's the imagery...this book is more artistic, fanciful.... I don't know. The lead character, Vance, seems to have been abandoned by his parents (for his own safety, of course) and has WAY too much time on his hands to over think things.
The fifth book in the series and I found it the weakest story. I just did not enjoy the characters in this story and was glad when Jaze and the guys showed up over halfway through. I did even like the corny ending either. The lead character Vance had so many thoughts and smells he was just dull. He fell in love with a hunter but her character was even duller. Ok one more book to go on a otherwise great series.
This story is my favourite so far, still continued with the old characters as secondary characters. But this one had a mini love triangle and showed the other side of the culling that Mason had succeeded at in book 1. I loved the little twist at the end regarding Nora.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Another great story from a superb author! This series just keeps getting better and better! What these characters go through to survive is amazing and encouraging through their efforts to survive. Great read!!!
Vance surprised by an attack on his, but more so by his feelings for an Extermist's Hunter's daughter who he protects from his pack. But he about have few more unexpected surprises both good and bad.
This series is really holding my attention. The reason it's only 3 stars is an editing thing where the bad guy's name kept changing from Rob to Ron and back again.
Continuing the theme of the series this instalment follows Vance, an alpha who had been hidden away by his parents when he was six years old to save him from the alpha killing spree that Jaze’s uncle was on. Now an adult Vance runs the camp, and looks after all the other werewolves that are sent there until they are old enough to form packs of their own. The boys all live in relative harmony until one night a group of trainee hunters happen across the camp and lives are lost on both sides. Vance’s humanity kicks in and he takes pity on one of the hunters, Nora and keeps her safe in his quarters.
The problems really begin when Vance learns that Nora’s father is a rogue hunter leader, who kidnaps and tortures werewolves for pleasure, and takes Vance prisoner. When Nora finds out what is happening she seeks out Jaze for help.
I am enjoying this series but have read the first five one after the other and feel the story line is now becoming predictable. There is a pattern that flows through each book that varies only by the main wolfs back-story. Jaze and his pack is the common denominator that ties the series, but his tale doesn’t seem to move on and I would like to see that happen. I’m going to have a few days break between this and the next book to give myself time to process so I can go into ‘Hunter’ with a clear mind.
Vance, a large, almost bear-like teenage, alpha werewolf is the top alpha at a retreat where young, male werewolves are kept safe while freeing their parents from the responsibility of raising them. When a group of inexperienced, extreme hunters stumble on the retreat, a violent altercation erupts leaving all the hunters dead except one. Nora. For some reason, Vance defends her and protects her from the other members of his pack.
Nora’s and Vance’s romance builds until the day he agrees to met with her father to return Nora home. The meeting turns out to be a trap. Nora’s father is the leader of the extreme hunters and Vance is taken to a place called Lobotraz where captive werewolves are tortured. Throughout the ordeal, Vance’s hope is kept alive by his growing relationship with Gem, another captive werewolf. Werewolves mate for life. Is Vance’s soul mate the human who makes him feel alive or the spunky werewolf who gives him hope in dire circumstances.
As with the prior books in the series, the budding romance here is well handled and kept clean which I totally appreciate. I recommend Azure (and the whole series) to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal story but is turned off by graphic violence and sex. I look forward to continuing this series.
