Glimpsed Through A Window

Night after night, the nude man is visible inside his Manhattan highrise. Tall, dark and beautifully proportioned, he’s a voyeur’s dream. In the glittering city that never sleeps, plenty like to watch and plenty have enjoyed the free show. But the vampire known as Var wants to do more than just look.

Thirsting For His Touch

For 2,000 years, Var has used men for both blood and pleasure. He does not seduce; he takes. After glimpsing the nude stranger, Var is determined to have him. But quenching his thirst will come at a price…

Warning: this story combines erotica and horror. It contains a non-con theme as well as graphic m/m sex and violence. Not intended for the immature or easily offended.

Dark, bloody and slightly gruesome.

Var, a 2000 year old deranged vampire, sets his sights on his neighbor while fucking his meal for the night. It turns him on when his naked neighbor finally notices him across the way, through the window. There is no HEA to be found. Instead, non-con, brief piss play, murder. With a twist!

Recommended for those who like it veering toward dark. This is not a romance.

Way, way dark. Perfect twist at the end. Written in a very lovely manner, quite understated until it really grips you. Perfectly paced as well.

Fuck you, glittering and Maybelline lipstick wearing Edward Cullen.

T. Baggins is at it again! In this FREE shortie she captures the dark and sensual atmosphere and cruelty that you come to expect of vampires perfectly. And it’s incredibly written once again. I was hooked from page one. Too damn bad there’s only 20 pages. But like with Protection, this story feels richer and longer than it actually is due to the punch-packing plot and strikingly beautiful sentences. Gorgeous ending too, one that you’d expect in a Roald Dahl story rather than in most M/M.

Now this is erotic horror. Short, hot and very well put together. I’ve been off vamp books for a while now... got burnt out on them but my friend, Kim asked me to read this one,,,now. Wow. Romance this is not, it is shocking, it is violent, it is everything you need to know in 20 pages.

Var is an unscrupulous 2000 year old vamp who acts without conscience on his sensual whims. No sparkly, angst-ridden vampires in Baggins world. Here’s a real vampire for your nightmares.

Sorry, no romantic HEA here folks... vampires are evil, there is blood, violence, and horror. Brutal imagery. FanTAStic! Short and oh so satisfying.

A pretty good short story.

My rating is skewed because I read it while waiting on hold for sixteen minutes for the phone company: not ideal.

Had I been paying attention, I would not have bought this book, but it was offered free on Amazon, and I just read the blurb thought it sounded interesting and I clicked the buy button before I even thought about it. More on that to come.

This is an erotic horror story, period. Less erotic and more horrific, and not by any definition a romance. Well, maybe a super twisted one. Warning: Still, who wouldn’t need to know what happened next? It was a page turner that held me in its thrall right up to the shocking and satisfying ending. A very unique story that, while probably disturbing for some (okay, maybe most), was wickedly enjoyable for me.

A solid 4 – 4.5 stars.

But it’s getting a 2.... Fine. 3.... 2.5 Why? One and only one reason. T. Baggins. Seriously? I’m all for clever humor, even raunchy humor, but that’s not clever. It’s not funny. It’s ridiculous and crass. What could be a gripping, respectable read is downgraded to tacky porn in that simple – unfortunate – choice of pen name. (Alright, there is a .000001% chance that it’s a real name, but I’m betting on not. If I’m wrong, my apologies, but not really, ‘cause I’d still change it.)

This book is dark. Very dark and quite disturbing in places but written in a way that you can't help but continue reading. Loved the surprise ending but would have liked it if the author had added a few more details in about Var's life.

Some loose ends weren't completely tied up but I read into it that it was left up to the reader's interpretation.

All in all a very dark read, not for the faint-hearted!

Dark erotic horror - I didn't find it all that erotic, but the ending made it worth the read.

I hate to give a book with no other reviews or ratings a one star, but I really didn't like the book. It has nothing to do with the subject matter, there is a warning for the book. I suggest you take this seriously.

I didn't like it because the story was way to disjointed. The blurb showed a lot of potential, unfortunately it doesn't carry over to the actual book. Way to short. There is a lot of graphic shit crammed into 20 pages. Too bad more time wasn't taken, like I said the idea of the book had some potential.

Sorry I didn't like it, but since it's free maybe you should try it for yourself. Others might have another opinion.

This ain't a romance, yo.

I dunno if I liked it or not. It's quite complex, though, which is generally an awesome thing. And yes, it was very rather dark, which was kind of a nice change of pace.

There was a section of info-dump-explicatey, and I'm not sure if I should excuse it for being a short story or not.

Wow! I picked this one up because it was a kindle freebie and it was about a vampire. This was a short-hot read. However I definitely did not see that ending coming! Var was an evil vampire but still I would like to have seen this story continue into another book or even a full lenght novel. Look forward to other books by this author. Maybe back stories of Var's life?

Okey so I usually never read horror but it was free and I read that some was a little grossed out about it so I had to read it. It did not leave a warm feeling in it's wake but I thought it was quite spectacular. Loved the scene when Van turnd Luke into a vampire, very bloody.

Not a bad read, I really liked it. It is very short, I would have liked it to be longer. It was really dark and sensual with a great unexpected twist at the end. I loved Var and would love to know more about him and his past relationship with Mark. I wouldn't mind reading about their story. This is not a love story, heed the warnings.

Described as dark horror erotica, but it is neither. Instead of scary or thrilling it was just plain boring. What was supposed to be erotic was just crude and off-putting.

I don't know how to rate this.

Var was a single-minded vampire. In the 2000 years that he had been a vampire, his only weakness had been Mark, a novice from a religious order. If you consider forcing Mark to become a vampire to be a weakness. Meeting what seemed to be Mark' reincarnation, Var turned Luke into a vampire thinking this time around, things would be better.

However, Luke had his own agenda. Stealthily, Luke managed to save the latest in a long line of victims and punish Var. Punish him in a savage and cruel way.

I'm not sure what rating to give this because I'm not sure what emotions I was left with at the end of the story. I wanted to care for Luke but he displayed the same hunger for violence as Var, though he only inflicted it on the vampire. I wanted to feel rage for the atrocities Var committed through the millennia. But he was made to pay for his sins.

There is no romance, there is no sliver of hope. There is only blackness of the soul, that may or may not be connected to being a vampire.

WOW, this is so NOT what I was expecting and it's definitely NOT a romance novella, it's a short horror story with male-on-male action (and not always with consent.. be advised..). Well, there is some sort of love but it's twisted and "wrong" all over.. It's also REALLY short - round 20 pages yet it pacts a story with a great punch.

Val the vampire is interested in his hunk of a neighbor who keeps walking nude in his apartment making himself irresistible to Val. Once he finally "goes for a visit" he is shocked Luke feels like the incarnation of his lost love - Mark. Wanting him beyond reason he turns him into a vampire. Luke isn't really Mark, but they do have some things in common.. I was opened mouthed then smiled evilly when I realized how! This is what gave this ultra short novella the 5 star rating. WOW, just WOW!

“I had a life.”
“And now you have an eternal life.”

We begin in New York City. Var is an old vampire—over 2,000 years old. He’s Danish. But obviously, he still looks like a young man.

Var was devastated when his last mate, Mark, couldn’t handle being different from everyone else. He chose self-immolation.

Var is tortured by his very sexy neighbor, Luke. Luke loves walking around his place naked—with no window coverings.

Luke reminds Var very much of Mark. Var turns him.

Compelling plot. We would benefit from further exposition of Var’s past.

Not a huge fan of the ending. Just felt like it was trying to hard to be different.

dark and erotic with a surprising turn of events which caught me by surprise. i liked the ending and some of the scenes that led to it but something was amiss. i am not sure if it was intentional on the author's part but something Luke said bothered Var so much yet it was not resolved. i knew it was significant and it could have cleared up some niggles i had as well but it was either ignored, bypassed or even forgotten.
if only the issue were explained, i would have added an extra star or two.
