I picked this up at a thrift store after I recognized the author from "Lady in Waiting." I really didn't know what to expect, but I really, really liked this! There are 70+ two-page devotionals which can be read in about three minutes each, but most of those devotionals give hefty food for thought.

I would recommend this to conservative girl readers 18+, as she shares stories of adultery (but not in detail). Typical readership, it would definitely suit a 16-year-old. In saying that, the stories and Biblical truths she shared are applicable for any readership. Some of the devotionals are aimed for girls raised in an abusive home, but most of them are truths that every Christian must apply -- many of them reminded me of my place under God.

I personally prefer KJV over other Bible translations and Mrs. Kendall uses a rainbow of versions. I felt that the truth she shared was doctrinally sound, I just stick to one version Bible.

I didn't think to copy down the many amazing or thought-provoking quotes, but here is one:
"It is very tempting to usurp God's role and be THE comforter. The problem with being this empathetic comforter is the brevity of the effect of our comfort."
