Straight to the Heart

Straight to the Heart of John: 60 Bite-Sized Insights

Rate this book
John wrote his gospel to give us a ringside seat from which to watch the Galilean carpenter whose message changed the world. Mark writes to tell us WHAT Jesus did, and Matthew and Luke write to explain WHY Jesus did it, but John’s main concern is to help us discover WHO Jesus is and what it means for us to follow him today.
God inspired the Bible for a reason. He wants you read it and let it change your life. If you are willing to take this challenge seriously, then you will love Phil Moore’s devotional commentaries. Their bite-sized chapters are punchy and relevant, yet crammed with fascinating scholarship. Welcome to a new way of reading the Bible. Welcome to the Straight to the Heart series.

These commentaries are excellent! Each chapter is four pages long but really get to the heart of the passage often with insights from the Greek. You don't have to understand Greek or be able to read Greek. Phil is always challenging with the scripture's application. I have almost the full set of these commentaries and would strongly recommend them.

Has been such a good insight into why John wrote what he did. Understanding that without the knowledge of the Greek language it’s hard to know what we are missing! Has been so helpful for my time with God in the mornings reading my Bible!

Great insight to the book of John. Phil Moore certainly writes in a way that makes it easy to read and understandable. I've certainly learnt some things that I didn't before.
