Who Ever Said Billionaire Bachelors and Modest Maids Dont' Mix?

Celine Santini couldn't have been more shocked when billionaire bachelor Pierce D'Amato offers her a job as nanny to his four-year-old charge. After all, he hardly even knows her. But after finding herself thrown into an unexpectedly intimate encounter with him, are they really strangers? Celine is captivated by the green-eyed heartthrob who takes her heart ransom but how can she give in to her feelings when they're from two totally different worlds?

From the first day he lays eyes on the dark-eyed beauty, Pierce D'Amato knows he is lost. He immediately devises a plan to get her under his roof...and it works. But the more he gets to know the sweetly seductive Celine Santini the more he realizes there's a lot more to this woman than he could ever have imagined. Her intriguing combination of sophistication and innocence keeps him forever off-balance and, before he knows it, his bachelor heart turns traitor. The heart knows what the heart wants and it wants Celine Santini...whatever the cost.

I'm a lover of all things romance - novels, poetry, flowers and chocolate (Snickers and chocolate covered peanuts are my favorite). I also love visiting romantic destinations - the sunny beaches of the Caribbean and romantic European cities including London and Paris. My idea of heaven - a comfy lawn chair on the beach in the shade of a palm tree, with a sizzling romance novel and a pina colada. Romance rocks - every time!

Please, if you're really considering to read this book, turn around and don't waste your time, this book isn't worth the effort to read it. There were so much things who bothered me that I don't even know where to start. It was kind of weird and I don't even want to hear about it again. Sorry.

I don't why everyone hated this book, it literately made my top ten. However, I will have to agree with everyone else, the name for this book is very unfitting.

I'm a sucker for love stories, I like the giddy feeling it brings me whenever I read. And if a certain story makes me giggle and smile sheepishly while I devour the words of the author, then that book is an instant hit to me! And that's what this book did to me. I smiled a lot, giggled a couple of times and fell in love.

Although I still don't understand how a kid-loving sexy billionaire Pierce D'Amato belonged to a bad boy series, I still rated this book 5 stars because it is swoon-worthy.

*chuckles* This was... corny and totally not my type of thing. Sickly sweet. I dunno how I got it. It's definitely PG and everyone is a Mary Sue, not just the MC.

Edit: I ended up rereading this because it was one of only three books on my cell phone. I liked it a bit better the second time around, though I still think it's insanely fluffy. So I raised the rating to three stars.

Short sweet read. Wish there was some sex, that man was way to fine to not have a sex scene. But enjoyed the story. Now to find some smut.

Celine Santini accepted a job offer that billionaire bachelor Pierce D'Amato offers her as a nanny to his four-year-old charge. But from the first day he lays eyes on Celine, Pierce D'Amato knows he is lost. The more he gets to know Celine the more he realizes there's a lot more to this woman than he could ever have imagined. You will love the characters in this book. Kelie is a sweetheart. Your heart goes out to her immediately. When she looses her mother, Celine is the only one that can comfort her. There are just so many facets to this story, you have to read it for yourself. 5 stars!

There’s no heart or soul in this story. What it has are the sharply cut pieces of a clockwork machine imitating those things. Nothing’s shown and everything is only told. It’s all very calculated including the rushed romance between two cardboard characters—Celine and Piece—who don’t have any chemistry. Pierce is a funny uncle in a sense that he doesn’t really interact with Kylie, his niece, rather than he speaks about her to Celine and that’s it. The neigbour, Sophia is a ridiculously one-sided villainess who the reader is supposed to hate simply because she went to a boarding school and thought it was good for her.

This one is SO very bad!

The general plots fine, but she completely minced it. There's insta-love. Insta-connections. Insta-bad bitch, who randomly pops up and disappears, even when she is still in the scene... who of course, insta-converts in a handy little paragraph in the end. And we haven't even got to the generalized skipping of time and details! The list could go on!

So, the maid walks in on him naked, and he instantly knows (before she's stopped screaming) that she is THE ONE who will connect with his newly acquired and emotionally damaged 4yo niece as her nanny, and offers her the job. She of course jumps at the naked mans job offer and is in his driveway the next day! And the emotionally damaged niece of course jumps into her arms and bonds with her in the first 60 seconds that she walked in the door. The neighbor appears at random to stake her claim on the naked guy, and talk smack about both the kid and the nanny... Yep, 4yo in boarding school... Of course! And he confirms much later that there was never anything between him and the neighbor, but never does anything about the crazy lady telling stories. Now the naked guy wants to get it on with the nanny (shocker), but, you guessed it, she's a VIRGIN waiting for marriage... who happens to have an ex-fiancé they run into on holidays who cheated on her and knocked up the OW, but now they've split, so he wants the virgin back... and he's happy to give up the troublesome surprise son he has, as he can have more kids with the virgin now. So, finally back home and there's this really weird bit about him going completely catatonic when she found a tame kitten in the middle of no where in their yard and brings it inside... yep, mom told him he was attacked by the house cat as a baby and now he literally can't function when he sees a cat, but that part of the story is done, time to move on. The virgin ends up caving and hitting on the naked man (who she loves so much), but he pulls out his man card and saves her from her silly decision, which leaves her all sorts of bent out of shape and avoiding him, but he's fine not talking to her about it, and leaving her feeling rejected cause she'll appreciate him having stopped her when he asks the woman who is now avoiding him and cutting him out of her life to marry him. But wait, there's more... The kid drowns in the pool while the nanny ran off for 5 mins to have a shower... But she knows she locked the pool gate last night, and now she can't trust herself to look after the kid, so she quits and leaves. Two weeks later, she can't stand being away from the kid anymore and asks to visit while he's at work... He is understandably fairly short and curt with her when he confirms it's fine as he never said she couldn't see the kid. And guess who's watching the kid when she shows up... yep, that's right, the crazy stalker neighbor who wants the kid to disappear so she can get back to her fantasy land with the naked guy! But before she can get into anything, the naked guy shows up, home early from work to see her, and the kid is screaming that yay, mummy's home too, but daddy says she might not be yet, cause she hasn't said she'll marry me yet... awe. I meant WTF. And let's not even get into the fact that the crazy lady just disappeared in the middle of that scene. Ahh, the epilogue... time to grab all those loose threads and knot those bad boys up like Christmas lights. That's right, a never heard of boy who the kid met in kindy is the ring bearer, why he's even in there I don't know, cause he just has NO point! A point is made that both their families came to the wedding... yep, that's a big surprise... right? Who would have family at a wedding? Oh wait, the crazy neighbor, who wanted to get rid of both the kid and the nanny, was the one who left the gate open when she came over early to get a pool implement for her pool boy... Now she's a committed devotee of the kid she was trying to get shipped out to boarding school, AND, she's super supportive of the nanny now that she's marrying the guy she was telling stories about in an effort to keep her away from.

And there's the wrap up on that puppy!

I am so thankful I took the time to read this book. The story itself touched my heart. I judged this book by the title, and cover and almost didn’t read it. This book was nothing like I thought it was. Celine had high morals. She met Pierce while she was working at a hotel as a maid. The meeting was funny but I won’t spoil it for you. He talked her into coming to work for him as a nanny to a sweet little 4 year old named Kylie. Kylie’s mother had an accident, and was in the hospital. Pierce was her point of contact. So He went from bachelor to family man within a week. The bonds that formed between Kylie, Celine, and Pierce touched my heart. Good story!

Wow, a HEA with no sex scenes, because the main character actually wanted to be a virgin when she got married. Yet, guess what it was still a very good heart warming, funny & sweet story of three people who are thrown together but under strange happenings form a loving family. I myself loved this book

Who writes such things that can't even be called a story!

I swear, plotless romantic Christmas movies have a story more than this thing.

No characters, no logic, no plot, no fun story, nothing!

I don't know who agreed to publish these things, but he certainly has no literary or commercial sense.

I love this story. A few hot & sexy make out sessions, but no all the way sex, yet as a romance tale, it did it for me.

Pierce the Billionaire & Celine the ex maid come nanny. So much emotional drama, squeezed into a novella. For a short story, there is so much going on. The child that Pierce finds himself guardian for, Kylie. She has had more grief in her 4 years of life that could almost bread an adult.

They are an unconventional but wonderful family in the making. It's funny the near disaster at the end of the book, I guessed who was really at fault there. Why is there always someone who believes they can control whom it is people fall in love with.

Having money verses the issue of not having money, always seems to play with our minds. But as usual, it's all down to communication & keeping the lines open of discussion, rather than just assuming what the other person thinks.

I'm not sure Pierce really comes under the title of Bad Boy, he didn't really come across in this story as playing the field. He actually comes actoss as a dream come true & quite the perfect HOT gentleman.

Beautiful love story, beautiful family love story.

This was a sweet, cute romance that was enjoyable but predictable. My main problem with this book is that it is misleading in title and series title. Celine isn't a maid but a nanny; it's a small distinction but it's there. And, Pierce isn't a bad boy as the series title suggests - a bachelor yes, but nothing about him is "bad boy." To me it felt like the author was trying to make this story fit particular keywords in order to increase sales/interest, but it wasn't the story you bargained for when you bought it. Luckily, for me this was a free download so I wasn't too disappointed. I was also frustrated by Celine's interpretation that she's not good enough for him. I would understand if she really thought she wasn't pretty, but this doesn't come across. It's more about her being a maid or nanny, but in reality, she is a PhD student from a well-regarded (if not well-to-do) family in France. She isn't some backwoods or ghetto girl striving to survive; she's a student attending Harvard! It was just a bit annoying and condescending.

I'm wondering why this book is included in the Bad Boy Millionaires series when the guy here is supposed to be a very decent and honorable businessman. Seems off to me.
Maid in the USA was a feel-good HEA story but lacking in depth and sizzle. I didn't feel the connection between the H/h. It was like they just decided that they're in love but i didn't feel it. Probably the best part of the book is Kylie. Yeah, she made me cry but if the main point of the book is romance, i'm sadly disappointed. The book has 215 pages but the story development was like that of a hundred page novelette. Some parts were just fillers and has no relevance to the story. The ending was also rushed. Really, i didn't feel any romance or deep love between the couple. Until the end.

Really quick read. Very touching, but the story fell flat for me. This was not at all what I would consider 'bad boy romance'. It also was not about a maid. The h was a maid for the first two pages, at which point she took a job as a nanny. (She is also from France but is studing in the States). So at first glance, the title is quite misleading. I finished this book in about an hour, as I kept turning pages hoping for more development to the story. Alas, I came up empty handed. It's cute & sweet don't get me wrong, but don't lump it in with 'bad boy romance' and leave me hanging with no 'nooky'. ;)

I was prepared to be skeptical. However, Ms. Angelo gave readers a fully developed standalone novella in 88 pages. Most Harlequin writers need twice the page count and fail. I was so prepared for the typical cliffhanger which forces people to buy more books but this story had none. I look forward to reading more. The ending could have been less rushed. Celline, Peirce, and Kylie should have their own series, I think they are sweet. I think a longer novel featuring them would be thoughtful, well written, and readable. I would buy.

Though an entertaining read, it was anything but believable. It was a bit cheesy, and even though that's not usually a problem for me, it seemed that here it was. There were a few inconsistencies plot-wise, and if I could notice them, then you know...

It did make me giggle here and there, but mainly I had a hard time connecting with the characters.

I finished reading this book in 2 hours and I can say that I was really hooked by the story of the Billionaire "Pierce" and the Nanny "Celine".

The book was really a fast pacing story.. A quick read. I was craving for more specially when the book ends that's why I rated this book 4 stars.

Okay, so at the beginning of the month, I drew 10 random titles out of my TBR (5 physical, 5 kindle) in order to give myself a push to read a wider variety of things, including really old books that I have. Maid in the USA was one of those. I got it free on kindle in 2012, when I went on a crazy one-clicking spur one I found out about kindle and their freebies.

Seven years later, I have finally read it. And to be honest... very underwhelmed lol.

This book demands a lot of suspense of disbelief out of you. First, it expects you to buy into the fact that a billionaire CEO (which, we pretty much NEVER see what he does, so I didn't really buy that either haha) would just look at a girl he doesn't know, have this intuition about her and ask her to be his 4 years old niece's nanny. Like... what? Ooookay. Good thing she isn't a crazy psychopath and your "feel" about her was spot on, I guess.

Then, of course, this woman is just the PERFECT angel. She is sweet, kind, maternal, and virginal. Cue the gagging on the last one.

And, like, the idea of marriage is so quick in this one, and I never even felt we really got to see them fall in love?? Don't TELL me they are falling for each other, for god's sake. Show it to me! The only person I believed they were falling in love with was Kylie, who didn't really read as a four-year-old but what do I know.

Then there is the Villainous neighbor who was just... why are you there? What is your purpose? why are you doing ANYTHING? I don't get you and it was never explored.

The cat phobia thing was absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. There was actually so much unnecessary stuff in this, which is hilarious because it's so short yet felt so long, and lacked pretty much everything I wanted from it.

From a certain point in time, things were just happening... to happen? To tick boxes? Miscommunication? Check. Near death experience? Check. Dumb separation? Check. A quick and unsatisfying resolution that made no sense? Check.

Also, that Daddy and Mommy scene at the end? GAG. Why? Just... why?

I didn't even realize I had so many negative emotions about this one before writing this review, because it WAS readable and not horrible, just... so darn mediocre and ridiculous. A mindless past-time for when you challenge yourself to read more of your books and don't really find a good enough reason to drop it lol

This started with a bang but ended with a whimper...

What a disappointment ! I honestly enjoyed the beginning of this novel which showcased so many great possibilities for development of the story line but by the middle of the novel the author seemed to lost her way. Everything that developed after that point just seemed to be written as if the author was just automatically writing a story along in just a bland sequential manner with little thought to conflict, chemistry between the MC's etc. Even the wannabe OW was a HUGE disappointment. The author just wrapped that conflict up in a manner that was too convenient to be acceptable.
What a waste of my time ...

Our hero, Pierce, rescues a darling 4 year old girl because her mother (Pierce’s cousin) is in a horrendous car accident that caused major head injuries that has her in a coma. Pierce is named guardian because this little darling 4 year old just lost her daddy only 2 years ago.
After so many sleepless nights and searching… finally a manager at a hotel that’s one of his clients recommends one of their employees, a maid, Celine from France going for her PhD.
After a interview he hires her on the spot and offers her double her salary. Love explodes and they form a family. Beautiful HEA. 5 stars!

This one was good for a fast little romance. Possibly my smallest book read this year 🤣
I'm trying to meet my Goodreads goal by reading all of the romances on my kindle I've been putting off 🤣
This one wasn't bad. Maid turned governess for rich guy. She falls in love with the child and then the millionaire. I feel like this one could've been stretched out a bit longer and more details added. The ending felt very rushed vs the rest of the story. Not bad though for a fast romance.

So not sure why this book is in a series called bad boy billionaires......he was tame for a typical Batchelor. There were mentions of past women but none during the time frame that the book took place.

While this was an easy read it was so tame and predictable that it was boring. Maybe just not my thing but not a book I would recomend.

Pierce

Pierce is a bachelor who is given custody of his cousin's child Kylie. He has tried the nanny agencies but hasn't been able to find the right person to help Kylie deal with the loss first of her father and now of her mother.

Pierce turns to his friend and client for help and he suggest s Celine for the nanny position.

Even though contemporary romance is not my genre, I have read much better contemporary romance books.
The characters, especially little girl was likeable but the story was unbelieveable even for a romance book.
The ending was sweet though.
