When a little boy discovers a monster in his room, of course he has trouble sleeping. He calls out to his parents, hoping they will help him and get the monster – who is ugly, aggro, has blood and guts on his tail and smells. No such luck, instead, Mum and Dad get all sarcastic.

This story is superb. The illustrations make an impression right from the cover, showing a monster that is huge and impressive, yet the eyes give you such a warm feeling towards the monster. The little boy might not want him in his room however the readers will want to give the monster great big hug. I will recommend this book to all young children because I had so much fun reading it, as an adult I was hooked so I’m sure children will be too. Reading this book is a treat for parents in providing lots of fun and the surprise finale ensures laughter all around.

This is a fun bed time story, I hope. I have two grand-daughters and one has an active imagination (which I love being a writer). The other is a bit more practical.

Andrew Daddo does what all dads do when their child yells out in the middle of the night. 'Go back to sleep!'

The little boy is seeing a scary monster with pointy teeth and snuffly grunts. Worst of all, it stinks!

Bruce Whatley's illustrations are adorable. I'm sure my grand-daughters will love the monster in the end.

This is funny, gorgeously illustrated (I adore Bruce Whatley's illustrations) and I love the little twist at the end of the story. Fab!
