SJ has seen thousands of vaginas. On her quest to normalise them, humor and calamity collide in this compilation of short stories and anecdotes about a girl who takes a break from her career in advertising to open a Brazilian waxing salon. It's not all about vaginas - it's about a girl trying to find her way through life, love, adventures, and whatever else the world could find to throw at her.
Can a book be hilarious, educational, and insightful all at once? Yes, it can.
First, the funny bits. The book is part memoir of running a Brazilian waxing salon/part education/part warning of what not to do with your lady bits/part advisory about paps and such, and part pep talk: there is no normal vagina. There is nothing wrong with YOUR vagina. You can't expect your vagina to look like everyone else's.
First the memoir bits:
There was the lady that struggled not to fart while getting her stuff waxed. This resulted in the squeezing together of her buttocks and oh my...two cheeks waxed together.
Well...it was very funny and entertaining. One woman recounts what happened when she was getting a Brazilian wax.... "...instead of two quick rips of the old wax, it was eight double rips... ever seen your labia sitting beside you hanging off a piece of used wax? Compared to this experience I looked forward to giving birth"... I laughed so hard at that
An amazing book I will be lending to all of my friends! This book was absolutely hilarious and very informative, even in my 20’s I learnt things about the female body that I didn’t know at all. The author is so open with her experiences and so honest, reading this book felt like chatting to a friend, the tales from the waxing salon was one of the most hilarious and insightful sections of the book. Cannot recommend enough!
This book was so awesome, it makes you laugh and your often pooped and washed and laughed into tears again just brilliant from someone who does get Brazilian waxes done.
