A very engaging book about an archaeologist who finds himself on a mission to discover the location of a missing golden cat. A new friend, a mysterious woman named Nefret, helps him in his quest.
This book has a lot of information about ancient Egypt and the hieroglyphs they used back then. Also a lot about tombs and pharaohs and how the Egyptians dealt with the dead.
Asher (6yo) and I went through the book together in a couple of days, writing out all the code questions. We got most of them - though it's hard to spell things right when the ancient Egyptians didn't use vowels!
I'm a big kid and an Egypt / Museum / Archaeology fan. This story was original and great for kids, or those who are trying to get a basic grasp of Ancient Egyptian culture or Hieroglyphs. An enjoyable read and BONUS, it comes with a CD-Rom that allows you to add a Hieroglyph font to your computer! I love it.
