Operation Seduction

Rate this book
The United Air Medics…health professionals to society, ‘bonzer people’ to the populations living in the Australian outback in need of medical attention.

However, behind the scenes is a whole different story. Generously-proportioned nurse Regan, and the hunky medic Digby, are having an all-out private war...throw in some cattle duffers and a wild ride through the skies, and life is going to get a whole lot more interesting…and hot.

This cute short story set in Australia's outback has a futuristic twist and lots of fluffy-fun moments (with more emphasis on the fluff factor).

Essentially, a hot doctor has to convince a zaftig nurse that his attraction to her is real and his intentions are sincere. One thing that did bother me with this ss is that the euphemistically curvy nurse seemed to go out of her way to make unhealthy food choices - and actually looked down upon smarter eating habits. Who doesn't love a special meal with all the trimmings now and then? But, come on, throw a bit of roughage in at least - we all need fibre! As a nurse, one would expect her to be more cognizant of healthy dietary needs, no matter what her size. Just sayin'....

Muito curto, a história meio que acabou de começar e já acabou, achei que faltou acontecimentos na história.

. Operation Seduction by Angela Verdenius
Put a hot Doctor and a smart aleck Nurse together in a space ship for a week worth of rounds to the outback stations and shake. Wow what a recipe for love, and Ms. Verdenius got the recipe just right.
Digby, the doctor, has known Regan, the nurse he is with on this week’s run, most of her life having been friends with her brother so he figures they will have a good time as old friends. Yes, Regan has known Digby most of her life, and he was the one man that cut her confidence to the quick when she was a young teenNow, Reg has her confidence back and she knows what Digby is all about, or Dickie as she is calling him now.
When Digby goes to apologize for an errant word at the dinner table he hears Regan giving herself a pep talk, and sets himself to challenge her, ‘to get Regan into bed before the end of the week.’Reg thinks he is just playing because she knows he like slender model type woman and she of the overly generous type curves verity, she keeps him at bay. Thrown in some cattle duffers, that is cattle rustlers for those not fluent in Australian slang, and a high speed space craft chase to add just the right amount of spice to this story that is set in the near future has a few extra new ones thrown in also, but there is a list with American equivalent explained.
This book had me laughing out loud and chuckling all the way through, there were some very emotional moments too; being a large sized woman also I could feel Regan’s thoughts and emotions strongly. She, being a heroine, of course got over her fears to grab a hold of love, where I am still living through the heroines that Ms. Verdenius writes to well. Thank you for sharing this 5 star story with us.

Quick read.

I found Regan somewhat abrasive for the most part. Digby was ok and easier to like.
I did not like the ocker Aussie vernacular used in the story. Some would have been fine but this felt like use just to prove they were Australians. Annoying.
As Regan is a qualified health care professional (nurse), and self conscious of her body, I would have thought she would care more about her food choices. The references to fat on the meat made me want to gag. Talk about a heart attack waiting to happen.
I didn't hate the story but it was my least favoured by this author.

I loved it. Despite the fact that Regan's a bit harsh and annoying, I liked her. Her attitude somewhat understandable because in her teen she got mocked that's why she tried to shake off the feeling.

I loved Digby, he's patient, sweet and willing to bent to get to her. One of the thing I love about Angela Verdenius is how she wrote her hero. Perfect. ;)

Yeah, I'm that easy to please that's why I loved it.

I was expecting something a bit better from this book. I'd enjoyed some of the author's other works, but this one fell kind of flat for me. The hero had to take a lot of flack from the heroine, who was rather bitchy about her weight, even after the hero proved that he wanted to be with her for herself. I also found it slightly far fetched with using a spaceship for short flights from homestead to homestead. Even though it was a quick read, it was only a lackluster one for me.

Fun quick read. I liked the angst and insecurity paired with banter between the hero and heroine. I also realized that there is a whole lot about Australia I don't know (Americans basically only know what we've learned from Crocodile Dundee and Outback Steakhouse commercials). I'm liking this author! (3.5 stars)

Not much to say about this "futuristic" short story/novella/whatever other than it's amazing how FAST the hero 'fell in love' with the heroine (over minutes). Talk about a Quantum Leap!

It must be the "futuristic" ambiance, I guess.

Not one of my favs of this author but a good quick pick me up. Ending is rather abrupt.

A wonderful short book, when you are on the way to work. It is typical Angela Verdenius. Sassy women and men with a lot of determination. I loved every second!
