Like most writers, I spend most of my time telling myself stories and occasionally writing them down when they get too loud to remain in my head. The characters are also very demanding, wanting to go out into the world to be discovered by millions of adoring readers, though they are most satisfied with having only a few readers that truly love them. From the gargoyles that sit on top of the roofs to the Siren who lures her wolf astray to the Aradians and Apocritae to those who battle evil, the characters are everything.

Instead of going through the traditional gatekeepers of the publishing world I have leapt over the walls with the help of digital catapults (kindle direct, smashwords, and createspace) and messenger e-birds (goodreads, facebook, twitter, RNC, etc), going directly to the public. It has been a year and while my strong hold is small it grows larger every day as I connect with other rebels throughout the lands and the readers who support our work. It is a glorious day to be a writer.

When it comes to the actual writing I have discovered that every single one of my books likes to be created in a different way, which makes establishing an environment that is most conducive to my writing is not likely, though it occasionally involves chocolate covered raisins, music, minesweeper, occasionally Mahjong, lots of solitaire, notebooks and scraps of paper, doodling and day dreaming, and fruity, sugar-free bubble gum, not necessarily in that order and not always at the same time.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the love and support of my very loving and very tolerant family: my husband who encourages me to keep writing even when I act a little insane in regards to the worlds in my head, and my three kids who help out so much when I get lost in those same, darn worlds. They politely listen as I go on and on about my characters' motivations and back stories, their connections within the worlds created and how they fight to gain control of their destinies. But I am a cruel writer and make them earn their happy endings.

Since I am also a Romantic at heart, they are all happy endings.

I LOVED this book! Duncan and Lexi were fantastic! I truly enjoyed the sexual tension in the book; it gripped me in the first chapter, and kept going, all throughout the book. Excellent storyline!

Initially, I thought the book would have a more mythological, paranormal feel to it, since Duncan is a wolf, and Lexi (Alexandra) is a Siren. One usually doesn't find that type of a match-up in books, but the author made this one work. The book is set in a modern-day setting, similar to 50 Shades or Bared to You. And, like those books, Duncan is a millionaire businessman, set on getting the woman of his dreams, but is so afraid of letting his wolf hurt her.

Lexi works at his magazine enterprise as a writer, and the immediate attraction they both feel for each other really gets to you. They initially meet in a bar, where her roommate and best friend owns it and works as a bartender. The story just kicks off from there: Lexi tries her damnedest to get Duncan, while he keeps saying "No, no, no," while his body is saying, "Yes, yes, yes." In this case, Lexi is the chaser, Duncan is the chasee. :-) The secondary characters also enhance the storyline, and play key parts in their relationship, and it really fills out the story.

I had a blast reading this book. Again, the tension just grabbed me and didn't let go. My only nitpick is that there were a few spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors that could've been eliminated with one more pass-through from a proofreader. But even that couldn't take away from the fun of reading "Siren Song."

Just ignore them and enjoy the ride; this book is definitely worth it! Loved it, loved it, LOVED it!!!

Author, A.C Warneke wrote to me on a trend when I was looking for a novel with a particular theme-She wrote hoping she wasn't ''stepping on my own toes'' and suggested her novel.
I have got to say...I Loved it!
I literally couldn't get this book outta my head! I mean, during a study class, I sat there thinking about this book and how many hours were left in school until I could go home and read it on my laptop(ebook).
I adored the heroine and her vivacious way of life! It surprised me to see myself as the character of Lexi. Her teenage self-as she describes- was reclusive and read all the time, trying to keep away from the spot life her sisters so craved.
Then she moves in with Cole and Dima(who gets his own story as well in this book)-who make her confront all that she is afraid of and scared to do. ''Lexi, darling-Lets go to a nude beach!''

The Characters are genuinely heartwarming and you could imagine them as your own friends. Which I find always endears characters to me.
The hero, Duncan was.....AHHHHHH! Welp, pretty sure one would need a cold shower after reading anything he does that is even SLIGHTLY romantic or sexy.

The attraction between the hero and heroine is instant and their first meeting is HOT! Its obvious they are in love from the get go, no matter how much either of them denies it.

Looking forward to more by the Lovely,A.C. Warneke.

Lexi has recently discovered that she is a Siren, a pure siren that only has one true love in her life and if that love is not felt in return she is destined to be alone and heart broken.

Lexi decides that Duncan is the one man she wants with ever fiber of her being but alas he is forever trying to deny their passion to protect her from his "animal side" (nudge nudge wonder what he is)

The chemistry and sexual tension is explosive in this book and I cannot help but love Lexi with her quirky personality and the fact that she loves to dress up and go against the norm.

When all the bickering and desperate sexual tension reaches a high, it is up to Duncan to decide to let her into his secret and heart and for Lexi to come to terms with her siren abilities.

This book has so many spelling and grammatical errors but frankly I did not care as I loved the storyline so much that I could easily overlook everyone of them. The main and sub characters are all fun with unique personalities and oodles of charm.

A solid 4 stars. I rarely read mf stories but this caught me from the first page. Lexi Darling is a daring journalist and Duncan Tremain is a successful businessman who buys Lexi's magazine prior to them meeting each other at her roommate's bar.

Instant chemistry and she goes home with him and he gets interrupted with a phone call and she passes out during the wait. She sneaks out in the early morning hours. Imagine her horror when she goes into the office on Monday to meet the new boss, and it is Duncan. The chemistry is still there in the daylight which they both fight because he is her boss.

They both have secrets: he's an Alpha wolf and she finds out she's a Siren. How is this going to work out?

I really liked this book - lots of snarky humor and sexin'.

“Clearing his throat, he rumbled, "Miss Darling, a word if you please."
"Sesquipedalian," she said, keeping her back towards him.
The strange response momentarily stunned him. "Pardon?"
Turning around, she leaned against the counter and grinned at him, “You asked for a word and I gave you one. It means ‘many syllabled’ and while it’s exceedingly pretentious it is a lot of fun to say. Sesquipedalian; it tangles up the tongue and then just falls right off.
“Or perhaps you would prefer a different word?” she continued guilelessly and he was completely charmed by her. “Tittle, which is the little dot over i’s and j’s; or Ornithopter, an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings; Tuatha De Danan Lora or Expector Patronum?”
“Now you’re just making words up,” he grinned, and realized he had missed talking to her.”

I have to say that I enjoyed this story. I admit that I found this book because I was looking for a story about a wolf falling for a mermaid, a mermaid being a mate to a wolf.

Although the world building is different from what I had imagined and the story wasn't what I was expecting I still enjoyed the story. It is nicely written, emotionally driven read and is especially thick with sexual tension keeping the reader captivated.

Lexi Darling is a daring journalist and Duncan Tremain is a successful businessman who buys Lexi's magazine prior to them meeting each other at her roommate's bar. When they met they have an instant chemistry and she goes home with him and he gets interrupted with a phone call and she passes out during the wait. She sneaks out in the early morning hours. They meet again at Lexi's office being Duncan her boss. The chemistry is still there in the daylight which they both fight because he is her boss.

The characters in this story are equally likeable. The different mythical creatures and their gifts make it an interesting read. Lexi, who finds out that she is a 'Siren', is struggling to come to terms with this and believes that all the males in her life are only friends with her because of this. However, Duncan is another story. She is completely drawn to him from the moment they meet, and those feelings never change.

Duncan is drawn to Lexi as well and spends the majority of the book fighting his feelings because he is a wolf, and she is a human, therefore, a relationship with her would be too dangerous. He only wants to keep her safe. The relationship between these two characters you could describe as primal leading to some very steamy sex scenes.

My only problem with it is that the story just got dragged that it got boring.

Yes, I admit that what first drew my attention to this book was the cover. It was after I read the blurb that I was curious to see how this all played out and I'm happy to say that it was a very enjoyable read.

This is the story of Lexi Darling and her pursuit to satisfy her hunger for wolf Duncan Tremain. Lexi was very determined in her mission and her story of lust and love was very interesting and hot. From the moment their eyes met they were both doomed and try as they might their lust could not be appeased. They fought, they flirted and in the end they `loved' as fiercely as they fought their attraction.

I really liked Lexi. She was a contradiction of sorts. A virgin with a very sensual side, fun, sarcastic and totally comfortable in her own skin, but with a heart so big and a vulnerability so great that my heart went out to her immediately. I have to say, I admired her tenacity - she knew what she wanted and she was going after it, dammed the cost.

Duncan was everything a hero should be - strong, sexy, funny and tender when it was needed. I especially enjoyed his conversations with his wolf. It was great to see such a strong, capable guy fighting what was going to be inevitable and accept his destiny and his bond with his wolf.

Each and every encounter between Lexi and Duncan were off the charts HOT. I enjoyed them so much that I found myself smirking throughout the book, wondering what was going to happen next. The author, A.C. Warneke, kept me intrigued all throughout waiting for when they were finally going to get together and when they did I was not disappointed at all. It was sexy as hell and very, very good. Totally lived up to its hype!

As you can see, I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry. I also enjoyed the interactions between Lexi and her best friends, Dima and Cole. The dialog was great too, which added to the enjoyment of the book. In the sense of developing the characters, the pace and overall plot and resolution, the writing was very good. However, there were many grammatical errors, at least on my version of the book, which sometimes confused me. That is the only reason why I didn't give it a five star rating.

All in all, a funny, sexy read with lovable characters and great dialog.

I received this book as part of the R2R (Read to Review) program in the group Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Fanatics! and would like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to read and review this title.

Title: Siren Song
Author: AC Warneke
Format: 288 ebook pgs
Genre: Urban Science Fiction Fantasy Romance
Cover: Nice Cover

Duncan is a wolf, Lexi is the siren and this is the first book I’ve read that included these two creatures. I can’t remember ever reading about a siren, especially one that is not tied to water and I’m usually not into wolves stories. I’m glad I gave this one a try. The story was a nice brake from the world saving heroines novels that I’m usually reading. This was simply a hot, sexy, excellent read.
I loved the way Lexi was confidant and loved the way she displayed it through her dress style. She was sweet and nice and possessed the power some females have that attracted the males; she is a siren after all. Lexi only has two friends…. two male sexy friends that are also her roommates. They help her out of her shy shell in the beginning when she was a bit of a loner.
The story had me smiling and fanning myself through out the story. Lexi was a very good instigator I felt sorry for Duncan, he has so many blue Pelotas (balls). She knew what she wanted and poor Duncan didn’t have a chance. So many hot scenes in different locations (yes locations) that I lost count. They were hot unable to control their actions and then they remembered the rules (dam those rules). It’s can’t be easy to keep your hands off when your boss is so darn HOT!
Sirens Song is a stand alone book for mature audience at least older young adult.

I received this book at a R2R so thank you A.C. I really enjoyed this book, it was a paranormal romance that did not involve saving the world or any world changing events, but it was a sexy, hot romance with a paranormal twist.

I loved Lexi and how she pushed Duncan on a regular basis. She was so outspoken and blunt it was hilarious. We find out during the book that she was not always that way and only with the help of her two best friends and many outfits was she able to come out of her shell. Duncan is uptight except with Lexi and he isn't comfortable with his wild side.

It seems that a lot of romance books use a love triangle (which I hate). This one did not the main characters were enough problems unto themselves. Lexi is just now finding out that she is a siren and what that means and I liked the siren explanations and implications. Duncan is a wolf but he is not bonded with his wolf and is fighting to keep control all the time. His internal struggles made him a more likable character. The relationship questions that arise from these two can be applied to every day people because the paranormal problems that they are dealing with are more like personality traits.

I liked all the side characters and enjoyed the fact that one of the roommates found a mate before Lexi..just because his chosen mate wasn't as stubborn as Duncan.

Thank you again A.C. for a hot sexy enjoyable read that went way to fast! This tasty treat made me want to go and read more from A.C.

OMG This book was completely amazing! A MUST READ!!!!!!!

I loved it and read it with in 24hr as i couldn't put it down and i will have to read it again and again.

The sexual tension between Lexi and Duncan are steamy and hot!

Lexi, a column writer for a magazine, meets Duncan and is instanly attracted to him and has sexual desires for him. Still a virgin, her sexual desires are stirred when she looks in his eyes, she knows there is something about him that she craves, needs and feels addicted to him, she wants him and won't stop till she's got him.

Duncan feels the same when he meets Lex. Just the though of her gives him an erection. He feels possessive over her and wants her, but he is also aware that he is a wolf and doesn't want to let the beast take over and claim her and hurt her. As one bite to a human could kill, as his kind have never been able to change a human without heartache and pain from the loss of loosing a loved one! At war with himself and the wolf, he trie,s to fight his desire for Lexi.

Lexi later finds out that she is a Siren and is learning what that mean. She is also worried that it's because of this gift that she feels she put a spell on Duncan and that's why he wants her too and knows that she is also at risk of heartache and pain.

The book is beautifully written, both from Lexi and Duncans perspective. A.C. Warneke has a new fan and look forward to more stories like this!

HOLY HOT HELL BATMAN! This is one HOT story!

Lexi is an enigmatic character that lives life to the fullest and takes a no hold barred attitude. She wear outlandish outfits and doesn’t take crap from anybody. I want to be her when I grow up! Of course, Lexi is a Siren, she just doesn’t know it…..YET!

Duncan is the typical Alpha Wolf that has to control everything around him. Then he meets Lexi and all bets are off!

From the moment I started reading this story I was HOOKED! Right off the bat Lexi is doing body shots with her roommate and bar owner. Duncan decides to do a body shot off her and it was GAME ON! Unfortunately for him, Lexi passed out before they could do the deed.

Over the next several weeks, the attraction between them grew astronomically. They were a combustible item looking for a place to explode. Every time they got in the same room with each other the sparks flew!

This is a very straightforward story without much suspense or suffering. The sexual tension was phenomenal I would have liked to have had more suspense in the story. I’m really hoping there will be more in this series. There are some wonderful periphery characters that should get their own stories.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

My only criticism of this book is, at times scenes felt dragged out a little longer than I thought necessary causing me to lose focus and the dialog in certain situations felt very unnatural.

Overall, a decent read especially if the mythology of Siren's and Wolves interests you.

Holy Hotness Batman(: wow I was so engrossed in this book! I loved the characters every single one of them! Duncan can rock my world anytime...
Sexual tension from the get go and stayed right up there thru out.
I love the premise of a Siren and the aspects of that and how in this book all those myths are put to rest! Total new spin. Lexi was the strongest according to her family...and she fights who she is. she is wild in her dress up outfits to show off her wild side and her way of going against the grain(: love that!
Alpha Duncan is so stinkin hum Ina hum Ina!
These two are so perfect if he would just give in to her sexual intentions...but no strings attached was the name of the game...or was it? Moments concerning the heart will do amazing things.
The surrounding characters are a hoot and her roomies are pretty yummy!
I love the ending and it all wrapped up on a uplifting note. Thank you R2R and A.C. Warneke for letting me review this fantastic book.

loved this book, it was sexy, fun, a different twist on the wolf/human mating. Lexi and Duncan were a great couple, the history that the wolf shared with Duncan towards the end of the book was touching..the internal battle that Duncan & his wolf had showed Duncan's insecurity of losing himself, to his wolf, not realizing that he and the wolf really were one.
Lexi's family secret was well hidden from her, and once known left her with exposed insecurities, which challenged her relationship with Duncan, causing her to second guess his feeling for her.

The supporting characters, Dima, Cole, Ashley, Lexi's family, all had good roles, and helped support the story.

there were some typo's, causing "her" to be "he" or others that change some sentence structure, but it was not distracting enough to take anything from the story.

I liked the character development and the tension between the characters was palpable. What I would have liked to see would have been a bit more plot development/conflict before everything was resolved. The ending would have been appreciated more had the climax of the story had a bigger element of tragedy to it, if that makes sense. I enjoyed the story anyways, but that extra element would have made it spectacular. :)

I really enjoyed this book! Duncan and Lexi were awesome! I loved the characters all of them, you could even imagine them being your friends and part of your life . Duncan a hot steamy wolf and Lexi a outspoken siren who would have thought! But Warneke makes it work, and the scenes where hot and steamy! I had a blast reading this book! The book is beautifully written both from Lexi and Duncans perspective. Looking forward to reading more from A.C. Warneke!

Uh, sexy! Loved it. Lexi just couldn't shut up and was never shy of a reply. D on the other hand was fighting so hard just to give in as easily. They were so hot together. But there were so many things that was left unresolved.
1. What of Cole?
2. What's the story with Dima and Ashley?
3. What happened between Philip and Thea?
4. What happened in the past that stopped the bonding?
5. What is the connection between both families, Rudnars and Tremains?
Enjoyed it nevertheless.

This book is way better than I thought it would be. It was fun and sexy! I was laughing my ass off. A great heroine (she went after what she wanted - what's not to love!) and a tied-in-knotts sexy wolff.
I recommend this to all pnr lovers.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS TO BE GOOD- BUT IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. i loved lexi and her crazy funny personality i loved her sooooo much! and duncan was such a babe and their chemistry was fucking amazing mY GODDDD. the sex was amazing and every scene between them had me holding my breath holy shit. i loved lexi's bff's dima and cole and i adored ashley! i loved lexi's family and i loved the whole siren and wolf myth and how it wove together! the plot was PRETTY DAMN GOOD. ALSO- one of the biggest things i fucking loved was the ENDING. WHAT A WHOLESOME, PURE, BEAUTIFUL ENDING. it was so fulfilling and made me cry honestly! authors, more than often, dont tend to write very good endings/epilogues- they always seem so rushed and quick, but the ending chapters + epilogue for this story was stunning! everything was resolved so perfectly and nicely i loved it.

UGH IM IN LOVE. cant wait to read all the other books by miss a.c warneke (definitely becoming a fave of mine!)

Originally posted on my blog Urban Fantasy Review

I got a copy of Siren Song from the Read to Review group on Goodreads, so thanks go out to all that make it possible for me to review this book. I gotta say the first couple of pages of Siren Song had me really intrigued, unfortunately though it kinda turned into a hot mess after that. I actually really liked the two main characters, I just couldn't stand them together. While I realize most romances are predictable this one especially so, there wasn't much conflict keeping the two MC apart except themselves getting in their own damn way.

Lexi was actually really interesting, a writer for an adventure/social column in a magazine, she wrote under the alias "Lexi Darling" . Lexi did all kinds of cool things whitewater rafting etc, while doing interviews. She wore crazy clothes, stilleto heels and a different wig everyday. She was interesting! She is hanging out at her roommates bar doing tequila shots with her roomie when she spies Duncan, instant chemistry so much so she goes back to his hotel room with him after knowing him all of five minutes. Did I mention she was also very blunt made for some pretty funny moments. I thought great here's a modern woman who owns her sexuality...sadly not so much as it turned out.

Duncan is pretty much the typical alpha male character, uber hot successful the usual stuff. The tension between him and Lexi in the beginning was interesting, but his angst got on my last nerve really really quickly. The only thing standing in the way of the romance between the two of them was his damn angst..."oh no we can't you work for me, but I can't resist you" crap got old fast and the book didn't need damn near a 100 pages of it. Parts of the story were completely unbelievable, Lexi has sex with Duncan as a virgin, the wolf knows but the man doesn't....seriously?! Duncan bites her but no one including him figures it out til the last paragraph....again seriously? The only thing that made this readable for me honestly, was Lexi. She was someone I''d like to hang out with the rest of the book....meh.

I received this copy free in exchange for an honest review. (2.75stars actually)

Make no mistake this is a very sexy book from character descriptions to situations to scenery descriptions. That is not to say there is sex on every page – it is not but there is a great deal of flirting and sensuality. Those items are detailed enough that you know much time was spent getting them just right. What I felt was lacking was character development. The leads (Lexi Darling & Duncan/D Tremain were little more than caricatures of what their fully developed selves would be. Lexi felt and read as if she was there for shock value and D came across as sex candy. I never connected with either of them because IMHO they were drawn as secondary characters. The secondary characters however were serviceable and kept the pages going between the heavy flirtation sessions of Lexi & D. Also this was presented to me as a Paranormal Romance (no fault of the author) while there are paranormal romance elements present it is insignificant to the overall storyline. There were also language errors (i.e.there instead of their or they’re; hear instead of here, etc.) which were distracting.

The synopsis intrigued me, I’m sorry I didn’t like this more.

I can't give it more than 2 stars, I enjoyed reading this and wanted to know hoe it finished but I did not like the writing.

The author make the most basic of mistakes often. You know, interchanging: there-their-they're, your-you're, than-then. That could be eliminated by some more editing, but there were also different errors that I didn't write down, but if I noticed them, they must've been pretty apparent since I suck at this kind of thing.
Also, sometimes the conversations were cringe-worthy. If you don't know how to write the full conversation properly, you';re just better off telling us "and then they explained everything to each other"
I think the ending bothered me the most. Not the epilogue but the party/ scene. I don;t know, it might just be me.

Anyhow, I just couldn't give this book more than 2 stars, even that's generous, I's prefer to give it 1.5 or 1, but I just don;t have the heart to do it since I finished the book because I wanted to - not because I wanted to see how much worse it can get.

I actually liked some parts, but even those were sometimes marred by inconsistencies.

Great book!

I loved this story. The angst absolutely killed me and I just couldn't put the book down. I loved the characters and the romance. My only issue with the story was the grammatical errors otherwise it was really good. I would recommend this book.
