Gabriella Appleby is a struggling young, large-size model who can't quite behave. She tries, but sometimes telling the truth just doesn't seem like the right thing to do. Making foolish choices also seems to be high on her list of to-do items.
Ace Journey is interested in Gabby, and cares about her enough to want to make an indelible impression on her. No one has taught her to behave, and he figures he's the man to do it. Although their New York/New Jersey rendezvous takes him out of his natural element, his ranch in Texas, he's smart and capable, and more than a match for the city streets.
Gabby wants Ace, and Ace wants Gabby. Unfortunately, her errors in judgment lead them to a fork in the road where they must part. Miserable about it, they find that an unlikely matchmaker—billionaire Jonny Chow—steps in to show them just how much they mean to each other.
I began writing for publication at age seven, when a poem I wrote was printed in a children's magazine. A long time went by before I wrote seriously.
These days, I live in the desert with my husband who is also my best friend.
Things to note: my books are all romances, because they are about people falling in love and living happily ever after. They also have quite a bit of erotic/adult content, so be ready for the spicy stuff.
This is the second book in the Journey series and while it can stand on its own I think reading them in order is more fun. Gabby and the reader have had a taste of Ace justice in the first book of the series and Gabby is surprised he'd even bother to look her up. They both start to have strong feelings but Gabby is unsure of herself and sure doesn't want to be the first to say anything plus she doesn't see how this can go anywhere. When Gabby makes a poor choice, Ace seems to give up and walk away because he feels she doesn't trust him enough to help her out. But he's pretty stubborn and poor Gabby doesn't stand much of chance.
This is the second installment for the Journey family and Ace finally finds the girl he wants but it deems as if nothing is going right for them. Just when it seems that they will never make it as a couple a unlikely matchmaker gets them back on the right tract and all is good. This series just seems to get better with each installment.
I’m really torn about my reactions to this book. I love that it seems to be quite realistic in its portrayal of such a large age gap between our leading couple. But the descriptions of the punishments made them feel to me as if they were excessive and a little bit brutal, so I tended to skim over those scenes. Thankfully for my peace of mind, there’s not many punishment scenes in this book. I did enjoy seeing the relationship between Ace and Gabby mature as they both got more comfortable with it becoming a real relationship. The ending also makes me very curious about the next book in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout as part of the box set.
