I probably bought this in the 1990s and must have read it a couple of times before though I did not record when. This is a good read though not as good as other volumes of this daily comic strip because the story lines are not as interesting. On the plus side the author starts to put J Wellington Wimpy into the daily strip and also introduces the baby, Swee'pea, who is a wonderful character. For those interested in trivia Popeye actually names the baby "Scooner" and "Swee'pea" starts off as a term of endearment rather than a name. Spinach also features several times as Popeye's favourite food. If you are not already a fan this volume is not the place to start.
