Albina Makūnaitė was a painter, graphic artist and book illustrator.
Studied at Kaunas Aušra Girls' Gymnasium. 1944 - 1950 m. studied at Kaunas Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. Her diploma work was an illustration of J. Biliūnas' "Sad Fairy Tale".
From 1950 m. participated in Galleries in Lithuania and abroad, personal exhibitions were organized in 1964 . Moscow , Yerevan , 1965 - 1966 m. Polish cities, 1967 m. Belgrade and elsewhere. Her works have been exhibited in many countries around the world: Germany, France, Russia, Slovakia, Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Japan and others. In exhibitions and competitions, her works, especially illustrated books, have been awarded medals and awards.
Albina Makūnaitė's works were awarded the Lithuanian State Prize ( 1966 ) (for the woodcarving cycle "Snake Fairy Tale", "Rye Song", illustrations "Ballad about Eve"), she was awarded the titles of Merited Artist ( 1965 ) and Folk Artist ( 1986 ) .
