Disney Aladdin

Rate this book

That’s right! The much anticipated second selection of my nostalgic ‘90’s Robin Williams Junior Novelization Triple Feature Spectacular Extravaganza is Disney’s classic, Disney’s Aladdin (which is apparently spelled with only one ‘L’ and two ‘Ds.’ I have a Mandela Effect memory of it being the other way around, making it difficult to search for this book).

I thought it it would be funny if they just took an abridged version of the original story from One Thousand and One Nights, slapped the cartoon cover on it and called it a day. I doubt that’s the case, but stand by for confirmation.

*Returning to confirm*

This is an unnecessary novelization that hits the beats as more of a breezy summary of the movie which loses a fair bit of joyous momentum absent the songs, visuals, and voice work. It’s fine.

A very good simplified retelling of the movie with full color illustrations. Overall not a bad book if you wanna relive the animated movie in a span of about fifteen to twenty minutes depending on your reading speed. I don't regret picking it up.

I am not sure if this is the same version that I have and read. If only the first page was visible here to read. Nevertheless in case if this is the same one then I highly recommend it mainly because I am attached to this film and book emotionally. Nostalgia my dear friends. If I will go in detail then this review will become an article about my life. Can't do that. I'll be like Thor when he was explaining about Aether in the movie End Game. No I am not trying to humble brag by using Thor as an example. It is just that that scene made an indelible impression. Now I am remembering Robin Williams. I don't know where this review is going. I hope you will understand. Just read it. Please. Thank you.

This book is more like a junior fiction novelization chapter book with lots of movies. I always enjoyed reading it as a child. It follows the Disney movie.

It was a very easy read. Even though I have seen the movie and know the story well, it still seemed like new information in a way. I had the pictures in my head of the movie I had seen a while ago.
