This experimental "transfiction" transcends conventional disciplinary boundaries. It has been labeled literature, philosophy, economics, psychology, political science, and more. One thing is for sure, it is like nothing else in print today. This pioneering effort in operational writing, fusing form and content, with its manifold interpretations, was first published in the 1960s in Transatlantic Review, a literary journal. It soon became a cult favorite, being anthologized, and then published in the current book form. It was relevant decades ago, it is relevant today, and it will be relevant in decades to come.
