Frankie Foster loves fixing people's problems. Her help might not always be welcome - and she might cause the odd total disaster - but Frankie always fixes things. Eventually! Frankie's best friend Skye, who's pretty serious at the best of times, is acting even more quiet than usual, so it's up to Frankie to find out what's up.
Had her first book published while still in high school, then studied theater at Webber-Douglas in London. Her most well-known work is the Point Crime novel Dance with Death. Others include Plague 99, After the Plague (previously "Come Lucky April"), Big Tom, Family Fan Club and Shrinking Violet, as well as the fantasy The Wizard In the Woods.
Today, Ure is very popular with British female teenage readers with novels such as Shrinking Violet, Family Fan Club and Passion Flower.
Ure has also translated Danish writer Sven Hassel's WWII novels to English.
Definitely one of the most extra children's books I've ever read...
I honestly enjoyed this one the least out of the others in the series! I really liked the first book (then again, I was about 12 when I first read it) and I thought the second book was okay. However this one... it didn't really have much of an interesting plot. I knew it was going to be about finding a pencil that was important to Skye but man, what was that? And some of the methods Frankie used to try finding the pencil? Super creepy... at least Jem eventually regained her senses and realised how creepy everything was becoming.
I guess I can't really hold much of a grudge... after all, it's a darn short read! Do I recommend? Not really, but if you read the first two books you might as well continue with this one.
