"Let's Celebrate Our Differences! Let's Appreciate Our Uniqueness! Let's Come Together And Build A Rainbow!"

My 4 yr old and I enjoyed reading this book together. This book is adorable and about diversity -- shows how everyone is unique in their own special way.

The Colors of the Rainbow is a great book to teach young children that no matter what race or ethnicity they are, they still share similar thoughts, feelings, hopes, and dreams. This book compares each person to a color of the rainbow because everyone is unique in their own way. This is a great book to read to a kindergarten or 1st grade class during the first week of school. This book will allow the students to come together and students can do a fun activity where they draw themselves on paper and write something really cool about them under their picture. The teacher can hang everyone's work in the shape of a rainbow in the classroom. Students can also bring in pictures of their families and during a morning meeting they can talk about their picture and their culture. Doing things like this the first week of school will build a strong community in the classroom for the rest of the year.

This is such a terrific book about how people are not all the same but unique and beautiful. This book pulls in the illustration of the differences as a rainbow, all coming together as a whole (community/friendship). In general the Lets Talk About It book series (social-studies) are wonderful for children to discuss difficult topics in an open and child friendly way, also these books are available in English and Spanish! Great resources!!

This book compares all different races and backgrounds to all the different colors of the rainbow. It teaches children about race and how when people of different color or background come together they can create something as beautiful as a rainbow. This is a great book for teaching children about their own uniqueness as well as the similarities they have with children different than them.
