Excellent, as all the books in Practice Makes Perfect series. Extremely useful and very well suited for self study. Each section has exercises the answers to which you can write in the book itself and then check with the exercise key at the end of the book. Each of the ten chapters covers a different aspect of everyday conversation skills while also introducing a number of essential grammar topics. So by the end of the book you both refine your conversation skill and refresh your grammar.
E' un vero piacere di studiare con questo libro.

I brought this along on my most recent trip to Italy to study since I'm beginning to feel more confident in my basic Italian. I've mostly been doing Duolingo, Babbel and a bit of Pimsleur for the last 5 years so I really just used this as a refresher for what I already knew. There were some new things of course, especially sayings and new vocab, but overall it was a breeze to work thru the lesson (without doing the workbook questions...I'd like to be able to revisit and not already have the answers written down). Still, it was a fairly thin volume for something as important as having the ability to talk with others regardless of the topics.
