He also made George Labovitz and Victor Rosansky’s pioneering book, The Power of Alignment (1997), required reading for every admiral. Under Clark’s leadership, the U.S. Navy underwent one of the greatest―and most successful―organizational transformations in its 200-year history. Now, Labovitz and Rosansky introduce the highly anticipated follow-up to their groundbreaking Rapid Realignment . The business world has changed dramatically since 1997. With the pace of technological, competitive, and social change increasing at an amazing rate, the difference between winning and losing today lies in a company’s ability to adapt and stay focused. Rapid Realignment gives you the insights and tools you need to ensure that strategy, customers, processes, and people work seamlessly together in the service of customers and that they continually realign in the face of change. In addition to an easily understandable mental model for organizational alignment, this book is replete with great case examples and tools for attaining alignment within your own organization. I found myself noting useful information every two pages or so throughout the book. Now, to put it into practice...

Few business books impress me anymore, I've read hundreds of them, but Rapid Alignment appears to have cut through the bullshit and done what few authors have been capable of; Labovitz shows exactly what he's done with major corporations to increase sales, profits and production.

There are no complex formulas, no multi-step programs or any other "distractions" from what the author calls "The Main Thing" which then is used to achieve this state of balance and efficiency called "alignment."

A powerful read with many real-world examples of his actual application of these principles inside huge organizations. I highly recommend.
