The coziness principles are more concisely expressed here than in the first book, the example builds are very diverse in aesthetic and size, and overall there’s more advice here that’s useful for the 99% at whom this book isn’t aimed.
I read (or skimmed) several of Susanka's books and I love the ideas that she presents. I haven't figured out how to work them into my own home, but I hope to in the future.
The books by Susanka serve as inspiration for new ways of looking at ordinary houses -- or a starting off point for building a new house that is beautiful and meets needs without wasting space.
Loved it not so much for the actual writing, but rather the theory it aspouses. We can comfortably live in less space than we thought. I wish there were more up to date photos too.
