A pleasant read, mostly because lots of unrealistic things happen that make life as poor Irish emigrants in post WW II London really nice for Sally and her siblings (though they are "poor" they don't want for anything they need, they have place to live with multiple bedrooms and a large window looking out at the harbor, the school is nice, the community is nice, and Kitty the big sister has a pleasant job with a boss who is looking out for her).
