"Shank Hokum was broad-shouldered and slim-hipped. He rode tall in the saddle, and he was steely-eyed."

A nice little tale from the author of 'The Summerfolk' about two rip-roaring families of rowdy cowboys who like to raise all sorts of heck with each other. The only difference between the two is one has a rather romantic-minded son and the other has a demure daughter. See where this is heading? It's a little more pleasing in the telling, as well as the excellent artwork by the author.
