Twenty-one year old Aidan O’Connell’s world revolves around music and his father, sister and grandmother, the core family that supports him through the ups and downs of life. While he and his Macready’s Bridge bandmates are on their first American tour, tragedy strikes. Aidan returns to his Derry, Ireland home to find his world torn apart. Macready’s Bridge’s other members, Patrick Leahy, Michael Sullivan and Niall Donoghue, and their manager Mack Macready, step in to help where they can, while at the same time coping with their own life challenges. As everything in Aidan’s world collapses, he finds he must make some very difficult decisions, including letting go of people and things he once held close, in order to rebuild his life. Set against a rich Ireland background, with endearing, memorable characters, “Walking Through The Mist” is a story of relationships, faith, and the human spirit’s struggle to survive when all is lost.
Books have always held a special place in my life. In 2013 I realized a lifelong dream when my first novel, Walking Through The Mist, was released. Since then I have released two poetry books and two more novels, the latest, The Space Between Notes, also containing a collection of poems after the novel.
I am deeply passionate about Ireland, photography, music, God and nature, themes that are reflected in my writing.
I’ve learned over the years to be brave and step way out of my comfort zone in order to follow my dreams. It’s an ongoing lesson. I can’t wait to see what comes next in my life!
Loved this debut novel by the lovely Sinead Tryrone. The ties that bind us all together are not to be taken for granted as they can so easily be snipped. The incident at the heart of this story breaks the heart and it's ripples move outward causing both pain and growth. Set against the Irish countryside, "Walking Through the Mist" is a love-affirming novel of family, faith, and friendship.
This book has strong characters that capture your heart and compel you to follow their story. The setting will make you feel you're in Ireland. Through laughter and tears, Aidan, Patrick, Niall, Michael and Mack will take you through their lives in a way you won't soon forget.
