It is a bit limited. I was disappointed at the lack of insight on certain Scriptures. Although, from what I have heard from other scholars, is that it is hard to find a good all encompassing complete Bible commentary. The best way to go is to get a specific commentary or 2 for each testament.

I use it mostly for Bible study. I picked it up at the book sale for like $1!

Keep as Reference. I have found this to be the most useful single-volume commentary and I keep it in arms reach whenever I am studying. It gives a good summary of the passage, and then verse by verse notes follow. I like the format for both over-view of the message, as well as detailed observations.
