Roadside Assistance

Rate this book
For almost three years, Harper and Clark have been carpooling to work together. Every morning, they share coffee and talk about everything that's going on in their lives. Except for one subject that never comes up--the fact that Harper has fallen for Clark.

Each time they are together, Harper tries to find the courage to tell Clark the truth, but anxiety about how Clark might respond to the news never allows Harper to follow through. Then, one day, the two men find themselves stranded on the side of the road. All alone. It's the perfect time for Harper to open up and admit his feelings.

Will Harper take a chance and be honest with Clark? Or will fear keep Harper's life stuck in neutral?

Heidi Champa is a typical last-born child. Snarky, attention-seeking and rebellious, she started to create dirty stories to keep herself out of real trouble. Having tried her hand at a million terrible jobs, she bought herself a laptop and finally started typing up those handwritten tales. After much deliberation, she started to let other people read her work.

In addition to her flare with the written word, she knows every sentence of the movie Clue by heart and bakes a mean Funny Cake. She loves Aussie Rules Football (Go The Cats!!), dancing to bad music and laughing too loud in public. A natural born klutz, she has been known to fall for no reason at all and always has a bruise somewhere on her body. Her life has taken her all over the world, but a piece of her heart will always be in Australia. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband.

She has been published in numerous anthologies including Best Women’s Erotica 2010, Best of Best Women's Erotica 2, Playing With Fire, Frenzy, College Boys, Like Magnets We Attract, Skater Boys and Ultimate Curves. Her first novella, White Out, was published by Amber Allure in August 2010 and her second, All Expenses Paid, was released in June. She has also steamed up the pages of Bust Magazine. If you prefer your erotica in electronic form, she can be found at Clean Sheets, Torquere Press, Ravenous Romance, Oysters and Chocolate, Dreamspinner Press, and The Erotic Woman.

This story was definitely TO SHORT! I'll never understand why creating so interesting couple and a story how they came together, and then to end it so quickly. I loved both main characters, Harper and Clark. Both of them were realistic, unique and cool. I loved their talk each morning in the car and this short story of Clarks plan to make Harper admit how he felt about Clark. It was comical and good. I enjoyed reading it.

Lovely short story.

I may be in the minority, but I actually liked both characters from the start. And then it was all wrapped up very nicely with Clark's plan - maybe too convinient, but I don't complain :)
Very nice book!

Ending felt weird, a little too short and no idea where the MC's were going with the relationship other than that I liked it.

4,5.

C'était une petite lecture sympas et rapide. Pas assez long pour s'attacher aux personnages, mais pas trop court pour que tout soit bâclé. De mon point de vue.

Lecture sympas !
