[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, HEA] Riley is one confused bear. He is quiet, moody, and aloof. He isn’t even mischievous like his six younger brothers. So why on earth is his mate a peculiar man that is Riley's polar opposite? Sterling loves the Lakeland ranch. He is especially enamored with one big bear shifter name Riley. The problem is, Riley won’t give Sterling the time of day. The man ducks and dodges Sterling every step of the way. But when Maverick calls in a favor for Riley to be the temporary leader of the fey, Sterling finds himself in an elven village far from the ranch, and Riley isn’t too happy that Sterling stowed away in the back of his truck to get there. Riley has been handed a huge responsibility. Maverick even called in a favor and had Max, Eagle, and Chey come to help Riley out. But his concerns aren’t with the fey. It’s with one slim human that just might be Riley’s downfall. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
Is there a SIX star rating? This is the best in the series HANDS DOWN! It is longer than the rest so there is more character development and the story is savored instead of rushed through like most of her books. Sterling is adorable and hilarious as expected BUT it is actually little Bacon who steals the show. Riley's transition from anal retentive, loner and perfectionist to a loving mate with a sense of humor was so perfect and naturally done. We revisit my favorites Heaven, Chauncey, Chance, Chey, Eagle and Max as well. We also get insights into Maverick's sentimental side.
This just exceeded my expectations. My verdict: Riley's long awaited love story is worth the wait and higher price tag. Had they added Johnny and Hawk in this mix I would have passed out in sheer joy.
3rd Reading 1-6-15 I really do love Sterling, but this time around I was hoping for more from Riley. I think I wanted him to be more gruff or something. I wanted him to hold out a little longer. I don't know. Guess I wanted more of a conflict between the two since they are SO different.
Somehow I rated this at 4 Stars, but to me it's really 3 Stars so I will be lowering my rating. I truly feel like the 4 Star was an accident and I meant to put 3 from the beginning.
2nd read June 2014 STERLING!!!!
First read 11-11-13 Hot damn did I love Riley and Sterling!
3) Se conoce que hay algo que oculta Ahm de Bryce🥰
La pareja de Sterling y Riley no es de mi total agrado, principalmente Sterling, me parece un niño infumable. Así que disfrute del libro solo por los tres puntos anteriores.
This was book 29 in the "Brac Pack" series. This was one of my favorite books in this series. Riley Lakeland has met his mate and his downfall Riley who is moody and quiet mate that likes to talk and is a lively person. Sterling came to Brac Village with his brother Darcy he sees the world in a different way. Sterling chases after Riley who continues to push him away. Riley doesn't know why fate has given him Sterling as a mate he is older than Sterling and a lot quieter and set in his ways. When Riley is asked to help with the wood elf's he agrees but before he goes Sterling ask if he can have a piglet and he agrees this was so funny because he names the pig Bacon I laughed through this whole book about that and he treated her like it was his baby even getting her nails done. The wood elf's have a lot of problems and that don't want outsiders coming into their village telling them what to do. When Riley gets there he finds out that Sterling has tagged along in the bed of his truck. Sterling thinks that Riley doesn't want him but he does and he has stopped denying it. When rogue vampires attack one of the elf's Riley and some grey wolfs from the Pride Valley Pack the also find out that some of the elf's have made a deal with some hell hounds to give them a young elf as a sacrifice once a month. In this book we also find out who Bryce's mate is and that he has been hiding the fact. Sterling has a fit when Kenway the large buffalo shifter told him he was weird because he was treating Bacon like baby and had her nails done it was funny Riley thought that his mate was being attacked. We also meet a young vampire that looks like will be Kenway's mate. This was a really good book this book was well written although I did find two errors in spelling, but I still loved this book.
FYI, for anyone who is confused about why the cover says it's book 30. Someone pointed this out to me and I thought I'd post it for everyone else to see :) The following can be found on the author's site:

One of my favorites from the whole series...In my opinion it was absolutely fantastic and funny and sweet and Sterling with Bacon will forever be one of the brightest points in the Brac pack world :D ... and I want a pet pig now...
Finally Riley's story! He's been the serious brother the entire time and we kind of figured Sterling was his mate in the last book. And Sterling, oh Lawd, that man. He's like a ray of spastic sunshine. And an annoying one (to Riley). He talks to all the farm animals and decides to take one of the piglets as a pet. That was my favorite part of the story. Getting the piggy's nails done etc.. too funny. I felt so bad for Sterling because Riley was such a giant ass but he eventually makes up for it...kind of. Another sweet, action packed story in the series.
Now Sterling is an acquired taste and not many people like him but in the previous book he was the hottest thing on two legs that ever walked this earth and no one could resist him. Make up your mind.
What is up with characters thinking mundane and completely irrelevant things during fights? I have a feeling like their thinking takes too long and then I'm thinking "why is the bad guy just standing there waiting for the good guy to finish his thoughts?".
Been a while since I looked at this tangle of series. I have to admit, coming back is better than I’d expected. Oh, this volume was not great, but apparently I’ve been reading mostly short books lately so a little more meat to the bones of the story made for a nice change.
Here’s the thing. Sterling is sweet, which I like. Riley, though, is a jerk. And he has as little reason for his jerkishness as he has for his sudden turnaround, so this is not in the least satisfying. Honestly? Sterling would deserve much better. Alas, fate is a bitch. Sure, by the end they’re blissfully happy together, so that’s all right, I suppose. Maybe this is the wrong author when it comes to holding out for a pair of heroes to really love.
Meanwhile the overall story continues. More future pairings appear and the dire general situation becomes increasingly tense. Meh. Makes me crave cotton candy fluffy lightness.
Another great mating for the Brac Pack. Riley is the oldest son of the Lakeland Bears and takes the responsibility of his younger brothers and the ranch to seriously. Sterling is new to Brac Village. He is just learning about the paranormal world and its dangers. Sterling is hyper, chatty and perpetually happy. Setting his sights on the moody taciturn Riley is sure to get his heart broken.
As always I enjoyed watching the two come together amidst the mayhem that is Brac Village. But, again I felt it happened to fast. Lynn Hagen is great at creating great characters and all of her series fit together but I'm always left feeling there should have been more. They are all great little quick reads but she is selling herself short. I would enjoy them so much more if she took the time and effort to develop them into full length novels.
I am a great fan of Lynn Hagen's paranormal universe and have good fun following all the different story arcs. I love the way the different groups of paranormals cross into each others storylines. It makes for a really interesting series, possibly confusing for the uninitiated but fascinating for fans. Out of all the different packs/groups of paranormals the Lakeland bear shifters are the best, followed by Maverick's wolf pack.
I really enjoyed this story and liked this pairing between Riley and Sterling, seeing the contrasts in their characters. It's a great story with an amusing pig who could rival Babe. This is the best story so far. One would think that with this huge array of characters and families, packs and worlds that Lynn Hagen would run out of steam, but she hasn't and I for one am very happy about this!
I will admit that I am a shifter lover and the Brac Pack is my favorite series. I have read all 30 of them. :) I also read her other shifter, vampire and demon stories that interact with the Brac Pack. I must say that this was one of the best. It seems Lynn had a turning point in her writing. Sterling and Riley's story was cute and the sidestory was good as well. Great interaction with the families. This story was longer, had more of a plot, and was just all around better. The shifters even organized in the end. In relation to the other stories this was a 4.5 read.
I have been waiting to see Riley fall. I'm glad to see he is lightening up. Sterling is perfect for Riley for just that reason. Riley just didn't seem to enjoy life and now with Sterling I doubt he has a choice. The whole plot was better with this book though we still don't get much of the continuation of it. I would add as a side note that Sterling and Bacon are adorable:)
