My saxophone teacher and I worked through this book many years ago.

It remains one of the best books any musician could work through. There's nothing particularly "jazz" about the patterns. Instead to be honest you have a set of patterns which you then try to work through in every key.

If you're methodical and work through all the patterns in every key you'll improve your dexterity, fluidity, and ear.
