Well, I only read an ebook version of the story by Thomas Olde Heuvelt: The Boy Who Cast No Shadow, so this review is only about that.
This is a cool, inventive story. A bit of a dark fairy tale. It does not stay cool, it becomes more personal, diving into the psyche of main character Look. Well done. A deserving winner of the Dutch Paul Harland fantasy contest.
Sometimes disturbing due to some sexual content, so I would not recommend it for children under twelve.
