with over 1700 pictures and illustrations, the book teaches a whole lot of techniques to draw better with different equipment, like when and how to use what stroke in a pencil drawing, and so on with other materials such as watercolor, pastel and... there is also a huge section about calligraphy and handwriting which personally i haven't read, but seems pretty helpful for handwriting improvement.
since i teach sketching (i have a facebook page called Sketchin5)i gotta say this is one of my most favorite books on the shelf!
